It is very easy to get around, very easy to navigate and find places to go to.  The Gurnee Mills mall is good, and lots of restaurants close.  Traffic not a problem when we went.
We're staying at the Residence Inn Marriott, Waukegan, in a suite similar to what you described, about 3 miles from base.  Im going to check out the Groupon thing you talked about.  Thanks.  Its nice to know theres a mom right around the corner when they head to San Diego (since Im in Florida... Uggg)
I agree just to hear him talk (so to speak) I got two letters dated feb 24th and 27th. He only has received one of mine though.  Same thing in his letters a lot of marching standing and studying. He sounds so grown up!
Yay for you!
Looks like today was call day for 807.  I received a call too.  Missed the first two calls while walking the dogs :(, but luckily, he tried a third time and reached me.  Says I have to keep my phone on me at all times.  That can be tricky.  Anyway, he sounded real good.  Positive, upbeat.  Everything stopped for that 10 minute conversation... IT WAS GREAT!!   So glad to hear that so many of you are sharing the same excitement; receiving calls and letters.
I am jealous I didn't get a call???  Did other moms get calls?
Well he did call but not me :( He called his girlfriend as well. She did share also.  I wonder if they get another call while they are there?
Sounds like BC is getting a little better now, as the guys are working together a little better and following the rules, not bucking the systems so much.  Says there's a lot of good guys.  They really excel in physical fitness (807)

Hello Navy Moms!!   Received a call from my son today, so all who have not, hang in there, that call is right around the corner...He sounded wonderful!!!!!  We talked for 15 mins.  He just received his mail today. Cannot write back until Sunday.  Making friends, and looking forward to PIR on 4/8/11

I made my reservations today so Im ready to go.  Hope to meet lots of NMoms!  :)

My son told me yesterday that some of the guys have mentioned that their moms are on this Navy 4 Moms web site.  I told him to tell those guys what my N4M name was, and then we can make that connection with those that are closest to our sons.  ( I hope that makes sense :)

Is this the division for guys going into SWCC?

My hubs is in Ship 11 Div 127 but he wrote in his letter that he volunteered for SWCC and might get moved to the "800" division.

If so, any one have info about the pipeline of training.  Will he go straight to Coronado or will he be in GL for a little bit?

They have to do two weeks of indoc. and then its the 20wks of training in Coronado.  I just dont know where Indoc is.
