I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and what you must be going thru at home, in addition to missing your son. I hope that things will work out, but as you already know, it will probably take some time. It's really hard to watch your child go thru these difficult periods in their lives but with your love (sometimes tough love) and support, hopefully she will realize that ultimately she is affecting her own life.
I spent one summer taking one of my sons to psychologists and psychiatrists trying to figure out what was going on with him. I was sure that 'my son' had been abducted by aliens and I was desperate to get the 'real one' back. The Dr.'s told me he was demonstrating "passive/aggressive" behavior, but thankfully the phase didn't last too long and life has been great since then. :>) Hang in there Nursemom.
Hey thanks ladies re: my daughter. It seems just as one gets settled another one surfaces with issues. I guess when you have 4 kids, it is to be expected. My 12 year old just joined Civil Air Patrol. It is the Air Force Aux. He loves it. He is learning how to drill and is excited that he has to wear AF uniform and Cami's for meetings. They also do p/t and have to pass tests to advance. He wants to fly planes when he is older. He has talked about joining AF when he gets older. It seems like a really great group of kids and like that it is structured and focuses on Leadership and character development.
FYI:
My ex received a letter today. Sounds like all is going well at BC but, he said he did not advance for his PFA. He did ok with situps and pushups, but the run killed him. I think he gets a few more chances.
Re: your daughter...Was/is your daughter close to her brother? My youngest son who is 16 was/is also showing a few of the same signs. He and his brother are hunting buddies. I think, even tho, my youngest would admit to it, I think he does miss him.
Sorry to hear that your son didnt pass the PFA...I dont know about mine but heres to keeping my fingers crossed!!
If your son is in this ship and division he PIR on the 8th.
Welcome to the group :)
Welcome to Ship 11 Division 123 for PIR 4/8 discussion group. Jen! Glad to have you join us. We rant on sometimes about unneccesary things, but for the most part we all have the same goal... to support our children/loved-ones on this journey and help lift each other up when we are sad about our loved ones being away. So happy that you got a letter. It does lift the spirits!
Are you going to PIR? Have you made travel plans? Let us know!
~stephanie
Welcome to the group! Don't those letters give you best feeling in the world?
Does anyone knows about the time of our PIR yet? I assumed it would be in the morning as well.
WELCOME!! I also joined a few days ago. What state do you live in? I am from Oklahoma. I have already found this group to be very uplifting and supportive. I think we have a great bunch of moms. I really enjoy logging in everyday and read what has been happening or not...Our boys sound like they are making great friends. I know my son has mentioned this to me.
