thanks for update Matt just called too was so nice to hear his voice.Said the next 3 weeks will be intense. We are going up He has A school Monday but can spend some time with us

We got our phone call this morning.  He said he is grad and go at Great Lakes for 3 weeks and than 9 weeks in San Diego.  He thought he had to report on Sat.  So we are unsure of time spent with him.  Everything I have read says GL people report after PIR and then you get most of the weekend.  He did say nothing is sure yet and he will know more the week before PIR.   Overtheedge, hopefully, you will find out things change from what your son has been told.

All in all, he sounds good.  Said they were on week 3 day 4 or 5.  Said he did well on his PTO and passed the swimming test.  He thought the time was going by fast.  He couldn't believe that there were only 26 days left.

We will see them soon!

Sandy & mysailorson~So glad you too both got your call too!! I am not changing anything as far as airlines or anything till the last minute at this point. He originally had liberty but is now grad & go. Who knows if they are playing games? All I can say is not on my wallet! It was a huge relief  to get the phone call. I have been walking around humming happily since :)
good for all

baleystars - i'll bet it was great to hear from him.  As moms we are going crazy with the lack of info.  I am trying to imagine what it must be like for you and having to work out a move too!   I sent you a friend invite so that I can message you with my name and my son's name.  We will be in GL soon!

Hi!  We got our third letter today!!  He wrote it the same day that he called.  He still sounds good.  Said that he thinks he will be able to spend the weekend with us when we are there for PIR.  It is so great to hear from him.

I hope everyone else gets a letter today or tomorrow!

Too funny..I have a soon to be 16 yr old I would like to send at the moment! Glad everyone is getting good news :)
Only 19 more days!!  I received letters Thursday and phone call last Saturday too.  My son is also sick and said everyone was sick, but he is OK.  Hope everyone is doing good.  I am new here and haven't had a lot of time to reply to things but this group just makes me feel better because I know all of you are going through the same thing.  It is just a crazy roller coaster of emotions and only people going through this understand.  Thanks to all of you for being on here!
Glad to have you, MaryJune and Monica!  Time is going by quickly these last few weeks.  Soon we will all be meeting!  We are staying at the Residence Inn.  Can Not Wait!!!
My son got to call his girlfriend tonight due to receiving some type of Bravo award today. She couldn't understand what the other word after it was. Anyhow i thought i would share the good news with you all! I can't wait till the 1st!!! We are getting closer everyday to seeing out sailor recruits :)
