For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yay jajao! Exactly what happened with my girl's makeup! Again, moms, it just depends on who is processing when they get to GLs. The worse that could happen is it gets thrown out, but more likely sent home in the box if the makeup is rejected at processing. Just remember, small amounts, neutral shades, and no mirrors. ;o)

Hey there, gal! I'm missing my girl quite a bit these days ... even though she is in A-school and now has her cell phone! It is by no means as tough as it was when she was in boot camp (only two phone calls in 9 weeks!), but missing her all the same! ;o) How are you guys doing? Hanging in there, I'm sure! When is your daughter's PIR?! ;o)

Hi Lisa! Hope everything is great with you...and your daughter of course! ;o) Graduation was fantastic! And spending time with her that weekend was even better! Saying good bye was harder than it was when sending her off to BC, though. My girl is at Gulfport, MS right now for A School. I just for a call from her today and she is doing very well on her tests so far, but she and her roommate did not fair so well with inspection of their room! Must have been those darn hidden crumbs from the brownies they received in the mail last week! Lol! She said she is scheduled to graduate from there in a month from now...then home for a little while. ;o)

She graduates 4/8/2011. Talked to her on 3/3. She sounded really good! Helped relieve my anxiety, we talked for 50 minutes, it was awesome!

Isn't that first "real" phone call from BC golden?! ;o) Funny...she will graduate from A-school the same day yours will graduate from BC! ;o) Ash arrived in Gulfport on Feb 8th, had to wait a few weeks before starting her training there, but had general classes (like, how to properly handle your finances!) and lots of physical training while she was waiting. We initially thought she would be stationed close to home for about 18 months while she went to school for pre-med, but it doesn't look like that after talking with her today. She's currently training as a Seabee but really wants too be a trauma surgeon someday. When she enlisted, there were no more spots available for corpsman, so she was "highly" persuaded to sign on as a SW (Steel Worker). What in the world steel working has to do with the medical field is beyond me, but she is trying to make the best of it for now. ;o) Sounds like she's doing well so far!
Oh...and I'm not sure yet how long her leave will be after A-school grad., but we do know she will be allowed to fly home the same day she graduates...maybe even on the same flight as her brother and me?! Wouldn't that be nice! -

So the job she signed up for before BC is not the one she's going to school for? Why is that? Wow.....that throws me for a loop! Because my daughter signed up for HM, does that mean she might not go to school for that after BC? When do they let the SR'S know?
