My son is in this division, Just got a real letter from him today. Has everyone made hotel reservations yet? I need to tomorrow...can't find the brochure that came with the first letter. Looking forward to seeing him.
I made reservations at the Quality Inn in Waukegan.  It was $70/night.  Not bad. I'm arriving on 4/13.  I am also trying to figure out what to do in the area while we are there.  Any ideas?
Thanks for the advice. We made ours there as well.

Finally got my letter and one extra.  Seems he transposed the numbers in the address-Nerves or excitement I guess. Who knows where the box wound up.  Anyway where the heck is everyone in our ship/division?

Liz,

I am so happy for you I got 2 letters on Friday !!!! I must have read them over and over again. :-) He sounded tired on the first one but the second one was much better and it sounded just like my son.  I was wondering the same thing about our ship and division ?????? There is not very many of us ???? Not sure what why???

I haven't received a phone call yet but have been carrying my phone wherever I go!!

I went directly to Southwest Airlines for flights.  I'm flying from Oregon so it was a good deal but into the Midway airport.  I don't have to pay for baggage and I can change my ticket if I need to.  If I went through Priceline, I would have to pay for baggage and wonder how much I would be charged for changing it if I need to.

Good Luck!!  I am looking forward to the phone call and "the box".  Talk to everyone later!!  :o)

No call yet,but I am hoping for a letter :)

Ok I have made my reservations.  Whew not a cheap trip.  Anyway I am staying at the La Quintas Inn and suites in Gurnee. It was 55.oo a night not bad has food and a swimming pool (indoor)  flight is on Southwest and Car is through AVIS.  This will be my first flight I hope I am ok with it.  Where is everyone else staying?

no phone call yet.  I keep kicking myself....one day forgot the stupid cell phone....next day forgot to charge it up....changed offices at work and no the phones have not been switched  UGH!!!! don't they know I am a mother here jeesh!  I wonder if they have made friends yet.  Last he wrote noone was allowed to speak unless spoken to and the only ones speaking were those in charge.
I got a call today from my SR.  He is doing great.  He said that SRs in his division can not speak to each other.  They are having trouble paying attention.  He is in charge of PT-is title is now the Physical Petty Officer.  Had his teeth pulled and loved the two days of rest.  Passed his first test with flying colors.  I think he LOVES it.
yay! i got a call too! and heard the same thing on how the division have trouble paying attention lol
the RDC said they will either be smart or strong.  Looking like they will be strong.  They must do PT every time they don't pay attention.  lol
