For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am trying to catch up with all the messaging from todays events. It was great to hear from my son. He called home and I was at grocery store. My husband called and told me he was on house phone line. I was so upset, thought I was not going to get to talk with him. His father called me and told me to get to an area of the store that had cell signal. I got to talk with him in a not so private spot. Fortunately, he called me back after I was home and we got to talk a little more.
He is was very enthusiastic. He said he passed bunk making, inspection and did well on exam. I did not hear about the flag, that is awesome. He also mentioned he failed one inspection because he missed one piece of hair on his chin. He did mention your son's name Ragdoll. He said, I think you talk with her on N4M. I told him it was hard to know who you talk to since we do not mention names too much. He said everyone gets along pretty will but there is some animosity in the Division. He is avoiding it. Really likes the RDC. Said they are good teachers.
He does not have a major job, he said he has to clean the office window. He is not too worried about passing run for PFA. Said that they are really giving them a good workout. Did get reprimanded once for wiping sweat off his brow while at attention otherwise, getting called a lot of names. (he finds it kind of humerous)
I was so happy he called today. We celebrated his brothers 11th birthday and he had a chance to wish him a happy birthday. My son was so excited. It was a great birthday present.
He said that he was told that the Corpsman were staying in GL and start A school first thing Monday AM. He will have time to spend with us. One thing he is a little unhappy with though, they were told that all male corpsman will have to go Marine fleet and not sure yet if they will be green or red zone. His recruiter told him that this was completely voluntary. I told him before he left that this might happen. He said he is not going to worry over it. Nothing he can do at this point.
It is great to read about each others call. One last thing, he said, mom remember when I told you not to write too much, well, write everyday, and tell everyone to write. I love getting mail. I knew it.
He is really enjoying it but, cannot wait until graduation. Loves the food.

Ragdoll, I could use some names too. My neighbor talked with her daughters daycare Kindergarten class and they want to draw pictures and write some letters for the kids that do not get mail or having a tough time.

Hi Ladies,
First of all, thank you so much for sharing all your thoughts and messages about your phone calls! Unfortunately I wasn't able to talk with my son due to the time difference and it was too late to call us our time. But he was able to speak with his brother and my parents,so I'm happy for him, but as I am sure you can imagine that's just not the same. So while I am very sad (and feeling just a bit sorry for myself,) I have really enjoyed reading your comments from your sons. It does seem like things are going well and I think that is absolutely awesome about them getting the flag. My youngest son told me that my SR said that he would have Friday free but was heading out on Saturday, didn't give a time though. It's funny, I had all these questions I wanted to ask him and since I didn't get to, I asked my parents or son about them and of course, they didn't know to ask so it's back to square one. I do know that he told my parents that he gets up at 4:30 to get ready to get others up at 5, so there must be a few that have that "early morning duty". I laughed and said I needed to stop complaining when my alarm goes off at 6!
One good thing is that he told his brother that the cards/letters are coming in now and that they are great to receive. In my last letter to him I asked about SR's that might need a letter, but it will probably be a while before I hear about that, so if anyone has some names to share, I'd love to write them a note as well.
I'm so, so glad that everyone was able to speak with their sons, and again, thanks for sharing. It makes me feel closer to my own son when I read about yours! Please continue to pass on any info that you all get, just in case I "miss it."
I'm looking forward to PIR and seeing my son, but also to meeting you all because you have made this experience a much easier one to get through. Thanks-Traci

Sorry you were not able to speak to your son. Thankfully, he was able to talk to your parents and your youngest. I know it is not the same but atleast you got some information and most importantly he was able to call someone. I think about these poor guys that have no one to call when the whole division goes to make phone calls.

That must be so frustrating, Traci. I can't imagine just how hard it is to be so far away. I am happy to send you names, but I can't on the open forum. I sent you a friend request. Once you accept, I can send you a note with the names. I know it means a lot to them.
My son spoke of your son and he likes him. I am so glad to see that they are getting along well. I look forward to meeting all of these boys and their moms at PIR. It makes my wait seem even more suspensful!
