I sent my son with about 1000 minutes worth of calling cards because it eats up a lot of minutes if they call a cell phone.  I'm not sure if you can mail him a card, but one of the moms on N4M can probably let you know. My son asked for prayer for him and his bunkmate - only gave his last name.  Said they have had some not following directions, so the entire division has paid for it.  He sounded upbeat - even after having taken the "peanut butter" shot.  I got a pretty funny description of it. :>) Is your son having his wisdom teeth pulled?  I had heard they sometimes do that.  Will that push back graduation for him?
Not sure what it was for but my son said it felt like he'd been stuck in the backside by Satan's pitchfork. It is something that is really thick and doesn't go in too easily.  My poor, skinny child is probably still black and blue!!  I'll have to ask him in my next letter what kind of shot it was.

I heard it was a penicillin shot. (not from my hubs but from a friend)

He has some broken teeth from motocross racing and they said they would need to be pulled. He didn't say if this will push back grad, but I just wrote and asked him that. Wish he had given the name of his bunk mate. Only thing he said is he thinks he is 20. My husband is 25 and probably one of the oldest! He told me to send him some stamps and a calling card-both things I told him to take. Oh well.
One day they will learn to listen to the females.  As long as you can send them now.....If not, he can call you collect.  My son and his bunk mate are from the same state, and my son knows his brother.  I am glad.  He made friends with one guy, but he was sent home for medical reasons. Seems like they are sending quite a few home for one thing or another.
Hey Mixer 958wife!  So happy that you finally recieved two long letters today.  I too, recieved one!  I wonder whats going on with thoes guys? Maybe, that is the reason why we did not get letters for so long. Im sure our guys are looking forward to 4/8/11   I SURE AM
I know! I thought I was seriously going crazy from not hearing anything!
Maybe your husband will have the opportunity to call shortly!!  At least, you received two letters.  Just hang in there.  We're all in this together.
Thanks!

Hi Everyone, I am proud to join your group. My nephew is in Ship 4 Div 808. He is EOD. I was here a year ago because my Son was graduating and now getting ready for his first deployment. PIR was awesome. These kids are amazing and their transformation is substantial. Don't forget to book your hotels early so you can be as close to the base as possible and spend more time with your Sailor. Also don't wait to get him/her back to base early so they won't be late. I stayed at the Marriott Residence in and it was 5 minutes away. Very nice and free breakfast. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Take care. Bye for now.
