That is such good news. My son said the same thing. He just doesn't like having to be so exactly on his clothes folding and bed making.....but it's not a big deal. LOL He's blown away at how time is flying by so fast!
LOL....that's so great, about the food. My son actually said, he's been losing weight....because he hasn't been eating any sweets. My daughter and I are bake-a-holics. LOL  My family loves baked goods, so we make them. Unfortunately, that isn't always the best thing for someone who's really trying to keep their weight down. LOL  He didn't say though, whether the food was good or bad, so he must not think it's  too bad, right?  He probably would have told us if he thought the food was terrible.

Too funny...although my SR said everything tasted the same he did say he was gaining weight-which is exactly what he needs.  Still he wrote in his letter how much he misses my cooking.  I told him I'll make anything he wants when he comes home...some day.

Have a great evening ladies....

LOL, I would imagine that my son will have a few requests as well. If I know him, he'll likely request something like a big rack of bbq'd ribs, potato salad, and some of my homemade PB cookies and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. He does especially love those PB ones. As a matter of fact, I made a huge mess of them before he left and I think he gorged on them, knowing that he wasn't going to have them for a while. LOL

Good morning ladies!

My son said the food wasn't bad and that he is probably eating too much!!!  This from the world's most picky eater.  We thought he was going to starve in boot camp.  He said he usually eats whats out, plus a pbj sandwich and/or raisin bran!!  I think he's making up for the time before he left when he had to watch his weight so closely.  Doesn't look like he'll be loosing weight in boot camp!!!

Yay 1/2 way!!!  I couldn't believe when I looked at the calendar today that I leave one month from today for PIR - I can't wait :-)

Bless his heart. LOL  On the plus side mom, at least he's probably getting the opportunity to burn some of those extra calories off now, huh?  I hope you're doing great...my gosh, it seems so hard to believe that they've already been gone so long. Where has the time flown!!?? (((HUGS)))

Good morning ladies...31 days to go!   I hope this week brings news of our SR's and phone calls for those who have not received one.

Have a great day!

Good morning!  My sentiments exactly. For those who haven't received calls, I hope you get them.....letters, too. Have a wonderful day all!

My SR called his girlfriend a while ago (this afternoon) so it seems they are being given (not sure that's the right word to use here) more opportunity to make calls.

I figured he'd call her after we spoke Saturday.  Which is all good cause I can actually say I'm at peace right now.  Knowing that I will see him 30 days makes me so happy.

I did take the time at lunch today to write and send him a letter...Gotta keep him posted of things at home...especially dad doing the lawn Sunday...classic =).  so...check with those girlfriends...they're getting calls...

Have a great evening ladies!

Thanks for the update B....mine called today, having a bit of the blues. I was blown away at a phone call so soon. He said that today was their "scheduled" call, and the one we got on Saturday was a reward for them doing so well on their test. They've lost more of their guys and that seems to be one of the things bringing him down.   It's sad, you know, you get to know people and become a team, then some of them have to go home.....sad. Also, he got a minor injury and got put on light duty for 7 days. Not the best last couple of days. How quickly things can change. I'm sending a letter with pictures in it tomorrow......he's needing pictures.....needing to see us. Bless his heart...they're on their way tomorrow.

good morning navy_girl; yes she does keep me in the loop.  We parents appreciate hearing about our SR's. Sure I'm a little bummed he didn't call me but I'm glad he's keeping in touch.

29 days ladies!  It's down hill from here..I pray that our SR's get through this.

Have a great day!

We definitely try to keep up the communication with our SRs girlfriend. She lets us know what's going on, and if we hear...but she doesn't, we let her know too. Ours talks to her about different things than he talks to us about. Therefore, we try to keep each other in the loop. It just wouldn't be "fair" to do otherwise. She is as concerned about him as we are. I am so very happy for you that he sounded so good!
