did I do that right?  We haven't started twoard travel yet for the big day.  My son is quite a bit older than many of the other recruits.  He is 32. I imagine he is having a very different experience than if he had joined 10 years ago.  He did march in a drum and bugle corps, so some things are easier for him, I am sure.  Lookinf forward to a real letter.

I know! I work now too and cannot wait to get out of here!  Ill probably find a job when we move, but I just need a change of surroundings right now.
KiWi:  I am sure he will do fine the next time.  Those boys are getting more fit everyday...and I am sure they also have to learn to pace themselves. Running for fun is one thing~running against a clock is something else!!  Maybe we will even get calls this weekend...I laugh, as I dont know for sure that I would be the call receiver.  Hang in there...about 35 more days!!
Anyone get a phone call yet?
nope. not yet. still waiting...
Nope, still waiting, too
Me too!  And it seems like everyone has been calling me lately!  I havent gotten one yet. :(
I have to laugh...as I ran to the phone this am!! Darn recorded solicitor...dont they know I am waiting for a call!!  The way I see it...yep, we are last...I THINK THEY SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST!!!  Our boys must be doing great and not needing the extra support from their loved ones!! I am just so hoping that my son actually calls me!!  (after all...I bought him the phone card!)
You are really helping me wait patiently!  I know they shouldn't HAVE to call home, but it is so hard to wait!  Hope to hear soon!
OK.  Got my call....30 minutes long.  WOW!!  SR sounds very good~very very good.  Said 127 got a flag for passing Test #1, food is good, got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled.  RDCs are hard...but the guys are pushing on.  Really good to talk to him.  I hope your call comes soon!   Told my SR that I have "online friends" moms and wives of some of his ship mates, he asked who you all were...i told him, just as I taught him...we dont really give out any info..but I know some of you have older guys there..and he said he could probably figure that out.  That one call can see me through the rest of the time~he will enjoy this new life of his!!!

I got my call!!  Unfortunately, it wasnt a great one.  He's sick and sounded horrible.  He said that he's sick & tired of all the young kids getting them all in trouble.  They cant keep their mouths shut and he said they "are like a bunch of excited 15yr old girls!"

The phone calls were suppose to be 45 min long, but someone decided to mouth off and the RDCs cut them down to 30.  He said to not expect any more calls after this one b/c they get in trouble so much.  He said again that they have the toughest RDCs and their RDCs are known for getting all the flags (he confirmed they have gotten their first one) so they drill them really hard on everything.

You would think by week 4 they would figure out to keep their mouths shut. right?!

Luckily, he hasnt gotten yelled at, except when he got fired for his Starboard Watch job.  he's trying to stay under the radar.  He told me some names of some of his friends.  Kiwi- he mentioned your hubs  Also said a kid from NY was really cool.

He misses me & the kids really bad.  He actually was crying on the phone. Unfortunately, he called me while I was at work and so he didnt get to talk to our 4.5yr old son.  He was sad about that.  My son was too.

He's hanging in there and said he cannot wait for this to be over.  He feels like he is in Prision.  There are windows to let the light in, but he cant see out of them.  The only time they get outside is to go marching.  He said its really cold still.

But, He's halfway done!  He said that for Corpsman, he has to report to A-school Monday, so he will get to spend the whole weekend with us.  If he transfers over to SWCC (tomorrow is his test) then he will fly to San Diego sometime between M-W. So, we'll still get the weekend w/ him! Yay!

:) he said he was "cool guy"  nothing bad.
haha. OOPS!
