For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son is leaving next week for OCS!
My son is leaving next week for OCS. He is driving from Georgia. I am getting nervous, but he seems just fine. Any last minute advice?

Join the group Moms of OCS Graduates. My name is Mariellen, my daughter is about to start week six of OCS, you can also start a group for your son's class on Face book.

I only have a couple minutes to share right now, but since my son was driving, we went on the OCS website and pulled up the list of things he may need and he purchased them ahead of time and brought them with him. Prepaid phone card with lots of minutes. He won't get to use his cell until many weeks down the road. Writing material, stamps, envelopes. Some things will have to stay in his "closet on wheels" until he has access, but great to have when he can. Check out on here or FB and see if there is a group formed for his class, if not, start one. God bless your son and family, it was a proud and memorable time for us as we supported our son from a distance!

Wow, long drive! I know you are so proud of him! Tell us about him. Our grandson left on Feb 19. He is in class 10-11. Make sure he has e-mail addresses, phone nos and regular addresses. Zak had all his #'s in his phone and of course they confiscated it. He did remember his moms # and called her, but it went to voice mail. Be sure you stay off the phone the day he arrives so you won't miss his call! If you see a call from area code 401, grab it! Also remind him to take lotion for dry, cold and wind chapped skin and plenty of chapstick. They are running outside now instead of 20 laps round the gym. It was 35 degrees up there this am at 9 oclock and they run round 5 am. Check out Navy OC Class 10-11 on Facebook, you'll learn a lot from friends and family of the guys.

My son is also in Class 10-11. Will you be at graduation on May 13? Hope to see your there.
Also you should join "Mom's of Officers" group or Mom's of OCS graduates.

Hi, country girl, No, we won't be there. We had not planned to go anyway, but he failed his RLP on 3/19 so he was rolled into the 11-11 class. But! ironically,in a letter to his girlfriend a few days ago, he said he had been put in charge of getting everyone ready for RLP! Go figure? We are sending his mom and dad up for graduation-whenever it is- as birthday presents for them.

Melmft - Write lots of letters! To quote my son - "they are his ray of sunshine". My son is married with a little boy, so his first priority is to contact his wife. She has been so wonderful about sharing any information she has heard directly from him. However, I still have written over 27 letters to date since I first got his address on Feb 25th. If you can enlist a few family/friends to write too, all the better. My son said that it is so sad when you see someone come back from the post office with no mail. So despite the fact that my son is only writing my DIL I still am sending those letters every day! I have gotten a couple of phone calls from him and he says - "keep the letters coming" So.... be patient... there will be lots of waiting time but you will hear from him. Don't expect his letter volume to match yours. He will not have much time for writing.
Do go to face-book and try to find his class. Just type in OCS in the search engine and a list of the classes will pop up. The Wives, Moms and Girlfriends all share information they have received from their loved ones (LO) . All the pieces from the different LO's does help to put a picture together of what their class is experiencing.
You should be able to get your son's class number from his recruiter.
