My son left March 9 did anyone else's son or daughter leave then?

I didn't know it was going to be so hard.  I think about him every minute of every day wondering if he is ok.  No news is good news right?  I did get his phone call that he made it, still waiting for his box and form letter with address so I can send him a letter.

you should be able to get his address from the recruiter.

More than likely your PIR date will be 5/6 (may be 5/13-depends how long in processing) but join the 5/6 group and hang out till you get your form letter   here is the link   http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir562011

Thank you for your reply and suggestions on my profile page.  It has been very helpful.  His recruiter doesn't have his address either so I will wait for his letter
I can relate to the wondering if my daughter is doing well. My daughter just left yesterday on the 14th, and by now she might be on the plane to Illinois. I will be a little spacey until I get that call or the package of info so that I can get her address to write to her. Not knowing and waiting is the hardest thing to do. I am very glad that they have a forum for family member that are in the military now. Also my daughter's recruiter didnt give us her mailing address either, so we have to wait for the package from her boot camp.
Hopefully you will get her stuff soon but let me warn you it is hard to open that box.  I could still smell him on his clothes and I think my dog could too because he wanted to crawl inside the box so I let him and he slept all curled up on his clothes with his nose buried in the armpit of his shirt..lol..dogs seem to like stinky things.  I am thankful for this website too I have watched the videos of boot camp on here and it has helped me a lot.  Good luck to you and your daughter during this time.  I think this will be the longest two months of our lives but worth it when we see them at graduation and see the way they have become responsible adults/sailors.
my boyfriend left on 3/9 i got his address yesterday from his recruiter and i'm waiting for his box and :)
Maybe I will get his letter today I'll keep my fingers crossed.  Thanks for your reply and good luck to you and your boyfriend during this time.  Maybe he and my some are in the same division who knows.
Hopefully I get his letter today the 16th that would put it two days after your daughter's letter and leave date.  Thank you for your reply.  Good luck to you and your daughter getting through this short but seems so long timeframe.
I got his box yesterday man was that hard there wasn't much in it but all I could do was picture him putting all his stuff in there.  They must have been rushed or nervous because everything was just crammed in there not folded..lol..well maybe not because that is how his room always was here at home.  That will change finally he will fold his clothes and make his bed.  I talked to his recruiter Monday and he didn't have his address.  Hopefully his letter will come soon.
