Here's the website for ACE Care Rental:  http://www.acerentacar.com/
Rented our vehicle through "Ace" car rentals, gave us a good price, upgraded free of charge, shuttle service to and from the airprort was prompt.

Use the PIR Shuttles WORTH IT, as you only have to walk through the gate, just inside to the PIR Hall, less than 100 yards, no long lines to deal with trying to get onto Base. Sailor’s directing your way once inside the gate and outside.

From what we were told only use the yellow and orange cabs/PIR Shuttles as they are not going to rip you off with a “long ride around.”

We used Budget Rental Car Service, after we returned the car, they gave us a discount but they didn’t tell us about it up front as it is not advertised. Shhhhhh LOL.

In addition........the front desk at Residence Inn told us that we wouldn't need to be at the base any earlier than 7 am because the gates do not open until then. So we took the 7 am shuttle but did not get good seats. We had to sit up in the balcony and try to take pictures through the railing.( I got told to return to my seat when I tried to get up and take a picture at one point) I strongly recommend taking the first shuttles over. I believe they begin at 6:15 am. BUT the problem may have been worse for us because we were with the 900 division.

Sarge (retired Army Cab driver) was terrific and thank you for recommending him! I have pictures I will post - as soon as I can get to them. He came to the Ramada Meet & Greet, he takes care of the Sailors going to A school at GL and even picks up Sailors with Liberty every Friday and he buys them pizza. He makes sure they "do the right thing". I would recommend Sarge any time and especially if my Sailor was staying in GL. He know who, what, where, when and how ~ HooYah! He has a fleet of 8 and picked me up from O'Hare, was entertaining and informative.

Taxi Service:  "Sarge" Phone number:   847-212-0246. Another Glowing recommendations from this mom.
PS - he is an avid textor. Found that is the best way to communicate with him quickly.
We used Ace and wow...what service! The rates were phenominal as they gave us a graduation rate. They also gave my mom a huge upgrade for free. The only thing we found a bit annoying was the fact that finding the Ace spot at O'Hare wasn't the easiest. Different people gave us different directions to where it was. It is located in the horseshoe by the hotel, btw.
I rented a 7 person mini van from enterprised at 70.47 a day for 3 days my total was 229.79 which after checking other sites at Chicago Airpot they wanted 438.92 so glad I found this deal if you need a mini van dont hesitate because not many left!

Attending Graduation?

Your sailor deserves to have fun, take him/her to Chicago!

There is a new bus service called, "Navy Tour Chicago". It's a charter bus that makes round-trips from Great Lakes to Chicago every Friday (after graduation), stopping at Chicago's best restaurants, shopping malls and attractions!

It's the best way to experience Chicago.

Check it out! lol it's cheap ;-)  (navytourchicago.com)

I think it's sad that you spam every thread. Not any better than the people who wait outside the gate hoping to take money from the sailors.
Taxi Service:   Best ever,SARGE and CO, I was stuck in Chicago, needed to be in Waukegan,  called Sarge, I was rescuded with no long wait.  Sarge (John), and his buddies are the nices, friendlyist group of retired soilders.  Keep this phone number with you just in case  847-212-0246!!  You can make arragements days, weeks in advance, they will be there for you.  And they know all the great places to go!  I love and already miss these guys.  Thanks for all your help!!    Kathy
My son's PIR was 8/05/11.  My family and I flew in and did not rent a car.  I had heard about Sarge's Taxi Service on N4M so I had prearranged for him to pick us up at O'Hare Airport and deliver us to the Ramada Waukeegan.  Sarge was there despite our being late and he provided my family and my Sailor with transportation everywhere we went.  Sarge told us about the area, about PIR, and was a wealth of information.  His rates are the best around and his staff is kind, courteous, and SAFE.  Please consider making arrangements with SARGE when you are in town for graduation and congratulations to all of you!   SARGE'S TAXI 1 (847) 212 - 0246.
