Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

There is already a group that I started, but maybe there are some that don't know about it. So, I'm gonna start this one...
My son mentioned some recruits that he was "hangin'" with in bootcamp...but I don't know if I should list their last names as that is what he called them by. What do you guys think?

I'm trying to arranged transportation from O'Hare to Waukegan for graduation without renting a car. My parents and sister are driving from Ohio and I'm flying in from Georgia. So we will have a car for the weekend but I arrive much earlier than they do. Any ideas on ground transportation would be helpful, it's about a 30 or 40 min. trip I'm told, so not sure how feasible a cab is.
Haven't received any more letters, but like ya'll, I carry the first around with me all the time! Hope we get a phone call this weekend!

I have heard that the airports offer shuttles but wouldn't know who to contact about it. You can always catch a cab but I'm sure that would cost a pretty penny...

Thanks, I checked on a shuttle. I just found one that for 49.99 will take you from the airport to Waukegan, but it didn't get very good reviews. So, I'll just keep looking. I'm sure there are companies that do this, I just have to find them!

My son is in div144 which they said is the brother div to this one so i figured I'd jump in this one,too! Not too many in 144 have been on, met a few...You can send private messages and name your sr if you are trying to find out who they hang with.

Got another letter today-- he says that the division is a grad and go. So he will go to connecticut for A school after PIR. He says that "sucks a ton" I'm pretty disappointed too. He also wanted to warn me about them not having any flags at graduation because their division is having trouble working together and keeping quiet when they are supposed to. I know they will get it together soon. I am so happy to have the letter. I think I have read it about 3 times now.

So is the entire division grad and go? When does that mean they will leave? My son mentioned before leaving for boot camp that he would go to CT for A school. I have only received one letter and this is new news to me. Thanks for sharing.

Tami, Thats what he said that his division was grad and go-- he could be wrong- i dont know how much actual info they are given about the whole division but for sure he is grad and go. If your son is going to A school in CT as well then I would think he is also a grad and go. I am not exactly sure what it means other than we get less time with them after graduation and that we can wait with them at the airport by requesting a gate pass. Hope you get your second letter today...

My son called me today and he said he is Saturday departure. If I read the memo right that came out earlier all A schools that are out of state are considered that. Unfortunately for us they will get their leave wherever their school is

Taraq--i got a letter today! My son is grad and go, will have 2-3 hours with him after grad. and he will be gone by 0300 Sat. am. How do we request a gate pass at the airport? Im so sad about not spending the weekend with him! He sounded good, passing his test and being one of the "nasty nine!"
Hoping to get a phone call soon!

Tami-- Im so glad you got a letter. Did you also get a phone call yesterday? I did and missed the call!!!! but fortunately he called my mom when he couldnt get me and he ended up calling me back. (I cried/ died a little when I just missed it and saw the area code the call was from.)
I'm not sure how to request a gate pass but I will look into it today and let you know. I know its really dissappointing to not get to spend the weekend with them. I was so looking forward to it.

Has to do with the guys that clean the bathroom---not a fun job but my son says that it gives them extra time to socialize!
