I wouldn't worry too much about not receiving a letter yet.  Most likely she was so exhausted the first Sunday she could actually write a letter.  My son wrote that he only got 7 hours sleep in 3 days.  One good thing I do keep hearing is how good the food is.  I think that is one of the things my son was really worried about.  Food.  If you need someone to talk to, I am here.  This is my youngest son and I really had a hard time letting him go, although I am so proud of him.
Hello!  My daughter is Ship 03 Div 146 also. So Proud and can't wait to see her!

I have a daughter in this group.  I know the mail is taking awhile.  My daughter only brought stamps and she did get a short letter out last week on notebook paper but she said she was in a hurry.  I would 'nt worry too much.  They do keep them very busy but I do understand how your feeling.  We miss them terribly and we end up checking the mail everyday.

I really didn't find out much about what's going on there.  All she was she was missing everyone and really felt home sick.  She hadn't gotten any mail which made things worse but it takes so long and we only got the address the middle of the first week.

I received a letter from my son on Wednesday.  I guess Sunday is the only day they get to write.  He didn't take any envelopes or stamps with him and his letter was written on Navy stationary.  I did send him some stamps in a letter, but he hadn't mentioned receiving any of my letters yet.
Does anyone kinow if they get any time off other than Friday after graduation?  My son is going to A School in Pensacola and I'm not quite sure when he has to leave.  I would hate to fly home knowing that I could spend more time with him.
danag2011 - My daughter is also going to A School in Pensacola....she said she was a grad n go and got to have someone come to FL the first week she was there...looking like it's a Saturday departure.   I wish I knew more.  I was also reading that it's usually the whole division not just a couple who are grad n go.  Do you know anymore than I do?
I just spoke to my son and he didn't have any information as to when they were leaving.  He sounds so different.  We got talk for about 25 minutes.  They usually get one hour, but some were messing around and they got 5 minutes taken away every time that happened.
I just got a call from my daughter last night.  It was so good to hear her voice.  We only had maybe 10 minutes.  She was going to go to A school across the base but they may close the building she was going to be in.  She says if this happens she's going to Texas for A school.  She's going to let us know as soon as she can because we had already made flight arrangements etc. and she would not have the weekend with us.  She'd be leaving after grad. or Sat.  Hope they let family know soon.
They sure don't give you any notice about anything.  We are probably only going to get Friday after graduation to spend with our son.  He was upset,  He at least wanted to see some of Chicago.
