It would be completely mean if you wrote that in a letter and sent it to your son.  :0)

I have no clue how I will dress for the event yet. I haven't even thought about it honestly. I assure you that it will not be a dress. I just don't do them. Obviously there is no set dress code so it is whatever works for you. I will likely also be in jeans - I don't get to wear them all of the time.

Oh -yeah - I also did a quick peek this morning and bought a card reader for my son. It was about $20 bucks at MicroCenter and I think it is an extremely practical gift. (Thanks Craig for the suggestion!) So I am official packing a gift for my son. If it gets to me in time. :0)

I generally do not wear dresses or skirts.  Only if I have to which is not too often.  During the week I am a jean and workout clothing type of girl.  I am going to wear a casual pair of dress pants, top and cardigan.  This way is it is cold once the doors open I will be fine or if it gets warm inside I can take the cardigan off.  It is something I would wear to church on Sunday.

I am going to be purchasing a web cam for my son so we can Skype when he gets some down time in A school. My boys won't be at graduation and are looking foward to seeing their brother.  His father is going to be getting him a new cellphone that has global capabilities.  I am sure when he is in A school, we will be sending a lot of care packages until he gets on his feet.

Is anyone else feeling a little anxious about getting a phone call that their recruit did not meet an inspection or PFA?  I will be so glad when BS are over. The only call I want at this point is, "I'm a Sailor, Mom!"  As they say, "NO news is GOOD news!"

Have a great weekend all!

Thanks Ladies for the in puts on what you are wearing.  I believe anything is fine, I will be wearing dress pants and something warm as I am a very cold natured person.  No dresses here either!!

WOW I hadnt even thought about a gift for my son.  I did order him a division T-Shirt.

Michele...Where are you ordering the COINS from?

Nursemom...I am also very nervous about getting that phone call but I am staying very postitive that HE will pass all of his requirements.  I agree at this point...NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!!!

I may let my mom know about the coin and see if she wants to get it for him and I will take it to him.

Oh and PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEv I  didnt want to offend anyone at all in what  each is wearing by  any means I was just  letting you know  about me ... I think all of you are beautiful moms and all your pics I have seen  your  so pretty and dressed nicely and yes probably  mainly for your jobs .. my job nope its jeans and a white shirt and an apron as I work in the family restaraunt  and God Forbid Shane would def die if I wore  my appron hahahaha I just truly dont have nice dress clothes not that I couldnt   I just hate them  and am sure Shane would say where is my mother and what have you done with her  if I show up dressy  LOLOL  but please I didnt  mean anything by it  nor was I being judgemental if anything I would think you all would be at me  for my jeans and tshirt LOLOL .... hope all is having a good day  and praying our boys passed Inspections . I did get a letter today .. was happy as I usually get them on thursdays and I for one know   that once they started coming on thurs and I didnt get one yesterday I kinda freaked wondering  if something was wrong  GoodLord who  knew motherhood would  be this hard  LOLOL he wrote  on the 10th and 13th  and said  he is excited for all the  "real" stuff (hands on  to start happening this  week(assuming the 1 we  just finished ) said  they  were haing  the live fire watches  guns etc .. they have battlestations on Mar 31 and apr 1 ( he had told me that in  the phone convo ) and to expect a call sometime on april 1st ..said he loves Sundays food cuzthey get all kinds of ice cream stuff on that day  LOLOL......and of course I lost it (crying)  at the end as I have always told him since he was little that no matter  where we are  we always have the stars to look at  that they are the same ones and to always look to  the starts and I  am looking at the same ones thinking of him ... so at the end of the letter he wrote  (real big) I finally got to look at the starrs a couple nights ago  havent  been outside much  so I was so happy that I got to look  up at the stars with you  and  know  you were looking too. ridiculousssssssssssssssss I am such a cry baby  LOLOL ............ also one more thing are there any moms in here (our group page) with the sons Dunn and  Meyers ? he said those 2 are MA's also and   going to SA with him as w3ell ...

Michele, what a great letter. I almosted starting crying about him looking at the stars. Thanks on the update about Battlestations too. My just told his girlfriend to expect a call on April 1st and now it is confirmed why.

thanks

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!v I told Shane last night   in letter that you said noYankee jersey and that I think I might just get Alexa  yankee tshirt for Grad  LOLOLOL am sure they will both laugh at that ...cant wait to hear the response on it ...

That's a beautiful letter, Michele. Like Jennifer, I about weeped reading it. I hate that I get mushy and sentimental about things now. I have rarely been that way and now it seems to consume me. I guarantee that I will be a ball of tears at graduation. I am sure that I will embarrass my son and myself. I have to pack kleenex! So sad!

I don't know what not passing inspections means either. I am not going to stress over it - can't. I have to know that our boys are on top of things and that they have passed inspection and are all on top of their runs and have passed the physical test. Hell week is likely upon them and they are getting amped up for Battle Stations. I cannot wait for that call on April 1st!! Be careful ladies - we may get some pranks with those calls.

I am not one to judge. Especially not someone's clothes. I will be happy to meet all of you in whatever attire you choose to where on that special day!!

Everyone have a terrific weekend. I am leaving work and ready to start mine.

I am sure to chat before it is over though!!

Dont worry about offending anyone about what everyone is wearing...I think us Moms are curious as to what in general everyone is wearing.

And thanks for sharing part of your sons letter about the stars....TISSUE TIME HERE!!!!  It seems the longer this goes (BC) the harder it is becoming and the tears are flowing a litter quicker.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Ann

Thanks Michele for the links. I bought the coin, but what is the card reader for? Also is there a web site or a page where we can view pictures of our boys in boot camp. I spoke to a family member who has a son in the Army and they can view pictures of their boys daily on Facebook, They have a video of his son in the gas chamber. Do we have access to this?

Thanks,

Sandra
