Ok, now that they have changed the policy about ship out days I'm confused about what to do. I booked our room from Thurs -Sun but wondering if I should try to change our flight and all to leave Staurday night instead.Too many variables!! They are driving me crazy! I'm afraid to change the days now then if something happens where he gets asmo'ed later and I have to change again... is there a limit to howmany times you can change?

Same here - I dont want to spend extra on a hotel room/food/time away from home if our son will be busy. So I have not booked our flight yet but need to today, so am nervous and indecisive. Thanks for the help friends!

We are coming from Texas. I will probably just leave thingsas they are. My son's best friend is going to be with me so I guess I'll take him sight seeing instead of my SR.

I am not going to change my flight.  Why don't we have a " I booked the weekend with my sailor and now he is in A School" meet and greet?  We could do something fun in Chicago  and guess what they are doing.  We are coming from Florida and have never been to Chicago.  We have a late afternoon flight out on Sunday.

We're from Texas too. But I  have family up there, so I'm leaving things as they are. You can visit the sights go see Chicago. Make it a mini vacation

What part of TX? My SR mentioned that he has hooked up with a couple of TX guys. One who;s dad plays guitar. They hit it off because his dad plays drums and they joked about getting them together after this is over...
We live in Austin and I my sailor is a girl. But her boyfriend plays the guitar and he is there in bootcamp too. They joined together. She is in Div 146 and he is in Div 149
Not too far from us.we are in Granbury. Must be hard to be so close to each other yet so far...bet they would get in trouble for even smiling each other during the week! My son is in 144
Yeah they can't talk to each other or anything. My daughter said she saw him and almost cried. But they don't have too much longer to go.

Will we have any idea what airport they will leave from? I would like to go with him to the airport and get the gate pass to stay with him but I also want to be sure to schedule my flight with enough time to get there.

Ok i am trying to follow this conversation. i missed my son's call but I knw his school is in GL so I am thinking he will have liberty the whole weekend. we are flying in thursday and flying out early sun morning. I will sometime friday evening and all day saturday.
