OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SHIP 9 DIV 131

Good Morning :)

I am wondering if there are any other families out there that have SR in SHIP 9 DIV 131 graduating on 4/15. So far there is ony 3 of us :)

My son also did not want to be SIQ he hung in there but he got better pretty quick. Standing for inspection from Lunch to dinner really stinks. It is a shame the other divisions seem like they are having some fun now and coming together. They need a different motivation. They have got to be some tough guys all that intensive training and they don't break. I have not heard that anyone went home.

I wonder if them getting sick has anything to do with all the shots they get. It just seems like every division no matter what year gets the same kind of sick. Just a thought. I hope your SR gets well soon.

I wonder how young the guys are in this group. How do they divide the SR's? What determines who gets put where? Could it be test scores? Or physical ability? Age? Or is it just random? I know most here are new like me and probably don't have an answer but somethings to think about.

Hi Moms, Iam Mom of Logan and he is in this same ship 09 and Div 131. His letter this week sounded more upbeat than previous ones. Pray all the boys are doing well. Logan has made friends with a young man named Langston from Ar. Are any of you Langstons mom?

I am Doug's mom. But nice to meet you "Grace". Seems my son is the APO for the division. I am sure the guys are not saying nice things about him. Oh well it's lonely at the top. lol.

Hi,My sons letter says they all went through the simulator class on the Marlinspike.Sounds like they did well. They should have started their Firefighting segment today. Thinks it will be intense.

I Know he is looking forward to firefighting he was going to be damage control but they talked him into hull tech. Has more to it.

Marlinspike is a three day event where recruits learn basic seamanship, line handling, shipboard watch and teamwork.
