I was so excited to get the letter. The first couple he sent were very down and, "I miss you, this is hard." But I'm hoping that he's really starting to adjust now, he's making friends and passing tests. I know friends help them get through so much. I'm really pleased that he's chatting about what's going on for him. I keep telling him to write to his mom, lol. I love getting his letters, but I know she misses him so much too. He better write to her! I know the main thing he's worried about is the physical fitness, the academia stuff is no problem.
I know it's hard for them to write a ton of letters. They don't have a lot of down time. I read somewhere on here that some folks just send forms.fill in the blanks to help them cut down on writing time, so that's what I've been with doing the last batch of letters I sent out. I write him every day and chatter in my letters, I don't want him to waste time sifting through to see if there was a question he missed. That way, he has more time to write other/more letters!
I hope he retains some of the cleaning that boot camp taught him. Maybe not toilet cleaning, but just general tidiness. I know he could make a bed really tight before he went, I'm excited to see how high I can bounce a quarter off of them when he gets home. lol The trick will have to be to not do any folding for your son when he gets there, to see if he does. Just make sure you're by lots of cushy things if you do faint! :)
