Hi Sandra,

The only site that I am aware of with some pictures is the FB US Navy Recruit Training Center. One mom said that she saw a picture of her son on there already. I am not aware of any site where we can gather any sort of picture or any other updates for that matter.

The card reader enables a sailor to see things on the official Navy website that the public cannot access. They are able to insert their Navy military ID Card and the reader translates that an official Navy autorized person is on the site and it grants them access to see things like what their rank may progress to. Places where they can request duty reasonably by knowing areas where that job is needed or available. Stuff like that. It is more of a practical gift.

Thank you for the info. I will order now.

I will check out the pictures there. His was awesome. He showed me a video with his son in the gas chamber. Also pictures of what his son does daily. Army must be different than Navy.

Thanks,

Sandra

Happy Saturday.

I got the best graduation card for my son yesterday. My gift has shipped. I am ready!  :0)

I am afraid that yard work is on my agenda too. :'0(

Yes, time does fly ever so quickly. You are extremely close to being an empty-nester. What will you do with yourself then?

Happy Sunday!!

Did you orders yours through the link Michele gave us? What is the card reader for? I ordered our division t shirts and I hope they get here on time.

Sandra

I ordered the card reader at MicroCenter. It was about $20 - 30. The card I mentioned in this trail was an actual Hallmark card. :0)  I ordered some shirts too. I feel confident that they will arrive on time.

What is the card for?

Sandra

I got the coin to. I can't wait to see it. I really wanted to get a ring for him but the cheapest I found was 300$ and I'm not sure about his ring size. I will get it later when my finances improve.

Hi Everyone! I feel so out of the loop since I haven't been on line for the past few days. This moving business has about wiped me out! I didn't even get to write a letter to my son one night as I was so out of it. But, the good news is that we are moved and now comes the really fun part of un packing what seems like a 1000 boxes. I just have waaaaay too many "treasures", which I guarantee you is NOT what my husband calls them. LOL

It was wonderful to hear all your news and to keep up with things. My youngest read my letters to me last Wednesday over the phone and it seems like things are going ok, but I think this is the time when the "rubber meets the road" and so tension seems to be a bit high. But like the rest of you I believe that they will do fine. They have put alot of hard work and effort into their training and I pray that it will pay off for them. My son mentioned he was a bit concerned with his knees holding up so hopefully they can 'last" a few more weeks!!

I was really pleased to read all the responses about what to wear to their PIR, as I didn't have a clue what was appropriate. I definitely am not a dress/skirt person and after living in Saudi for so long I have zero cold weather tolerance. So I may show up dressed like Nanook of the North!

I am going to have a look at these coins that you all are talking about; I didn't know anything about them so I will need to have a look. I really hadn't given much thought to a gift but I will be thinking now!

Stephanie-great post about what to expect. I'm printing that off as my "reference sheet". (and we can share a box of kleenex, but it will need to be the economy size!)

Michelle - I won't lie, I did cry when I read about looking at the stars.  :>) That was really sweet.

Mumzie - did your son tell you they were flying out of Midway for sure? I hadn't heard that yet.

Ladies, thank you all for sharing and I hope that each of you has a great week-end. My week started off really well in that our school was cancelled because the King decided late Friday night that Saturday should be a holiday. Of course I had to call each of my students but it worked out great for me as I was able to finish our move!! But tomorrow we will start school again. Funny stuff over here sometimes.

Enjoy the day!

Traci

I bet you are so glad to have at least one part of the move over!! The unpacking is still no fun, but I am sure that you can take more time with that process if necessary.

Economy size kleenex on the list now. ;0)

I am happy that you have an extra holiday. I guess a King's decision is not contested!! LOL

Enjoy your day and we will chat soon.

Hello Everyone...Only 15 days and approx. 22 hours left until Graduation!!!  Hope everyone is having a great week.  It seems the closer we get to that BIG DAY the more emotional I become that I tear up at the littlest things.  It seems crazy!!

Hello Ann -

Yes, it is right around the corner. It is so exciting! I really would like to have another phone call before April 1, but I am trying to be patient around that one. :0)

Ok - so we need more than one economy size box of kleenex!! We will all be cry babie together. I already know that I will not be able to contain my tears of pride and happiness. I get them just thinking about that day and writing about it here.

Miss you guys. Sorry I have been a little lax on the communications. I will not let this virus win!! I am up and at work today and was only told by one person today that I look like hell. **rolling my eyes** Well, yesteray I heard it from every person that saw me! I guess I must be a littel better.

Have a great day - 15 days!!! I thought it would never get here.

~s

Sorry you have been sick...That is never fun...Keep FIGHTING and you will bet that virus.  Hey at least one positive thing, you only had one person tell you that you looked like hell...HAHAHA!

I agree on the kleenex, more like a truck load.  Tears are flowing just writing about the tissues...

Hope you feel better soon!!  We have a big CELEBRATION to attend and you must be well!!

Ann
