That might be the gas chamber drill, my son told me it was coming up in one of his last letters.  They were also starting to shape up on their marching.  My son could not wait for the gun training.  This makes his father upset because he tried for years to teach him about guns.  Time to go a check the mail box and get my other son from the bus stop.  They are the same place a mile down the roadl.  You ladies have a good day.  If any good information I will be back to let you moms know.

I'll bet my son is excited about the guns. He loves them even though we never had any in the house. His best friend's dad took him under his wing and helped him get his safety card. He even took his older brother shooting a few days before he left. Now I am glad he has some experience and interest in them. I ordered a couple of ribbons from the mom on the website. Can't wait to see them!

When is spring going to arrive? 15 degrees here this am and it looks like Chicago is getting some weather too. I am hoping its nice when we get there. I could use a break from the cold!

It is awesome to be getting mail more often!!! My SR said they do pics this week too.  She was also excited about the shooting (being from the South we do a lot of hunting...she should do really good!) and about seeing us all at PIR!!!   They have all come so far throughout basics...PIR will be the ending of one journey; only to be the beginning of something much bigger!

It is nice and sunny right now in Arkansas around 60 or more.  Will be adjustment when we hit Chicago weather I am sure!  Glad everyone is getting news from their SR's and sharing!!! So, good to read everyone's post!!!!

Take care everyone....4/15 will be here before you know it!

Smiles from Arkansas ~ Tammie

Awesome to see the same things that my Husbands has been saying in his letters.  I can't wait to meet all of you on 4/15.  Im so excited to see my hubby in his uniform on Grad day :)  My Husband said they did get the "Academic Flag", and that they are puling together nicely.  He did say he had some friends so I'm hoping its one your son's :)  My hubby writes me every night and it is about a 7 day turn a round time to get them.  I have sent him pics of our dogs, and myself to him.

Im a very lucky wife to have such a strong, determind, and loving husband who decided to go into the Navy for a Bigger Brighter Journey Ahead.  Im glad this Division is doing really good.  Hope to see all of you, and Have an Amazing Day! :)

I have been hearing from friends and family that they are getting letters too. I am amazed for a kid who hated to write anything except on his phone. He has told them all he has passed everything and misses home. I know he is getting more comfortable and sounds happier. I can already tell he has changed. In three weeks we'll be there!

Hello Ladies,

Received some more letters yesterday and it killed me to wait til his dad got home so we can read them together.  Part of me wants to cheat and read them right away because I can't wait to find out how he is doing.  {selfish of me}  Well he told me that their marching still gets them into big trouble {IT} but he is making friends and paying attention and going for his marksman ribbon.  The only thing he needs to do is just knock 30 secs of his run and he has it made.  Speaking of made.  He told me they just finish designing and painting the division flag.  He said a guy that flew in with him from MEPS who is from orlando area has helped him with it.  My son loves to draw.  He said that they did Marlinspike on the 17th and they all passed.  Getting ready for BATTLESTATIONS!!!!  I guess they are still fighting for time for the iron because he cut his letter short saying he needed to get to the iron before his bunkmates does.

God I am so proud of our Men and Women for their service to our Country and I wish them all my blessings

Ladies of the 134.  Hooray for our boys.  They are getting their act together.  Flags are being earned and battlestations has a date.  Ladies have your phones on you on the 11th.  They do their BS on the 10th-11th.  They earned a flag for Drill and for Compartments (Racks)  If only they kept their rooms this clean when they lived at home LOL.  I hope you ladies receive your calls today like I did.  It was so wonderful to hear the enthusiam in his voice.  He earned a ribbon for marksman in both SAMT and live fire and he was bubbling over with excitment telling me about it.  Now I am going to read the letter I just got before the phone call about 4 more times So have a nice day and enjoy your SR's

CKA thanks for the info on battlestations and the flags.  I got a letter and a call on Monday also.  It made my day!  I needed to hear his voice.  He sounded so much better than the call a couple weeks ago.  He said they have firefighting and the gas chamber this week.  And they had pictures taken last week.  I can't believe that in 2-1/2 weeks we will be there watching them graduate.  They really have changed!  Have a great day!

Two weeks from Friday! Wow! We're flying into Milwaukee on the 14th and are going to try to find a good German restaurant for late lunch/early dinner and then drive down. Anybody going to the meet n greet at the Ramada? We're staying at the Navy Lodge and I didn't think to ask about restaurants.
Yes, I'm going to the meet and greet as well as staying at the Ramada. Unfortunately, my plane flies in from Oregon at 1700. I'll have to be quick in getting there unless I miss the whole gathering :(
We have a son on Ship 9 Div 134
We got our call on Monday and he could talk fast enough.  He was so excited to tell us stuff.  We got 2 letters today and it is always great to read what he is doing and thinking....Glad I found this group...I didn't do this when my oldest son 3 years ago was in basic and this would have been a life savor for me then...
