This is the final test for your SRs.  They will be tested on all they have learned and situations they could encounter when deployed on a ship.  It is a 12-hr overnight drill.  They go to the Disney-created USS Trayer in the evening and finish up the next morning with a capping ceremony. At this ceremony, they trade their Recruit caps for their Navy caps, graduate, and are now sailors!  Teamwork is the name of the game...they are divided into small groups and must function well together.  They will be evaluated as team members as well as individuals. This is what a Chief said about BattleStations:  150-300 SRs go through a night, out of that 3-10 may fail and have to repeat with another BattleStations group, teamwork is the key, if all recruits keep their mouths shut, listen and focus, and work as a team...they should pass.

The divisions will go through with their brother divisions.  Up to 4 divisions can go through a night.  The 900 and 800 divisions go randomly, sometimes tagging on to a set of brother divisions, sometimes going with each other, sometimes going alone.  They can start a week before PIR, either Wed or Thurs nights.  They start with the lowest numbered divisions and work up (this doesn't include 800 and 900 divisions). They do not go through on Fri or Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Sat. a week before PIR. This is a fun athletic event for all divisions in the PIR.  BattleStations can then continue Sun-Wed nights the week of PIR.  If an SR has to repeat BattleStations, he/she will go with another group in their PIR group--unless they have to go the night before PIR.  In that case, they will go with the next PIR  BattleStations group, be at PIR in full uniform---a sailor, but will not be able to march due to being up all night.  This is a rare occurence, but it does happen.  Also, the SRs must have passed all of their tests before going through BattleStations.  That could be another reason that a SR may miss his/her own division's BattleStations night and go with another.

"I'm a Sailor" calls usually start around 2 pm the day they finish, and can go on for a long time.  If someone does not hear from their sailor that day, it could be that he/she had watch and will call the next day.  We suggest that all of you keep your phones handy all day waiting for these calls as the times vary as far as when the calls come in.  When you hear from your sailor, please ask if all in the division passed and post that on the board for those who have not heard from their sailors yet.

The brother divisions in this group are:

129+130, 131+132, 133+134, 135+136, 137+138

922

Please ask your SR when their division's BattleStations date is, post on here and on the main board, and we will get a schedule started. HOOYAH!

How far into boot camp is it when they do BattleStations?
I think it should be the week of April 4th. I talked with my son on Thursday and he didn't have exact date yet. Div 136
This group's could start Wed or Thurs, April 6th or 7th.  With 11 divisions, they will probably take about 3-4 nights to get all through, so they would finish up during PIR week.  It is during the last week of bootcamp.
So exciting to think about our SRs going through this and MAKING it through to the other side....getting that I'm a sailor call!!
That will be awesome!
This was incredibly informative and answered quiet a few things I had been wondering about. Thank you so much for posting this, and like everyone else I'm excited to see my Sailor graduate and get the "I'm a Sailor!" call.
You are very welcome...and it won't be long now!  Be sure to be asking them the date for their division. They probably won't know it yet, but should in a couple of weeks.
YAY! I keep thinking about BattleStation call..what an awesome call that  will be from our SR!!! :)
I am just praying that all our SR's make it & we get the I am a Sailor call...........=)
Thanks so much for starting this thread - it was very informative!
You're welcome, kimcon!  Now...we need dates to fill up the calendar!  So be sure to be asking your SR in letters or on the phone if you receive a call.  They may not know for another week or so.
Thanks tuso:  It's on the schedule with 136 now!
