Hello everyone, I stopped by to wish you all a safe and happy journey to PIR. You are going to have an awesome time with your Sailors. God Speed :)
I did not receive a letter yesterday. So I also have not heard. They are assuming Tue. night/ Wed. morning because of the other schedules. But another option is that they could go with other divisions. Makes me nervous because I want to be home for the call! We will get through it. And on Friday we will see them!!!!
Have you heard from your hubby lately?
I know sandy received letters yesterday. I wonder if she got battlestation dates?
mysailorson~I hope you got one today!!
mysailorson & bayleystars~I got 3 letters yesterday 1 is dated 3/19 & the other dated 3/20. The other one not dated says "another week about to be finished, one full week to go & then E-Z mode after that. I have no idea what that means but I'm assuming graduation practice. He's begging me to bring white boxer briefs or boxers so he can get out of the whitee-tightees!!! too funny!! It seems his letters are almost a week behind because I get responses from the previous weeks letters. All the important stuff i asked in letters this past week were not answered :( I will probably be sitting in the driveway waiting for those letters before we fly out. I just hope the mail gets here before we have to leave! I found purple scarfs on ebay for $16 for 2 with the shipping.... not too bad :) I can't wait..so excited!!
*Btw~where is everyone staying? We are at the Ramada/Waukegan
baleystars - very cool that your grandparents have experienced the Navy life and are excited for you two. So glad they are coming with you to PIR!
overtheedge- the meet and greet is at Ramada on Thur. night. I think I read it goes until 9:00 or 10:00 pm, so you should be able to stop in and see who is still there once you arrive. I have not heard anything about being at the public affairs office so it must have something to do with your SR being an honor grad.
Can't wait! LESS than a week now!
The Sailors have to be there that early. We should get a "time" based upon the boarding pass they are given... the flight might not leave until 9am or 3pm. Depends on how much time you want to spend with them at the airport as to when you arrive there. If their flights are moved up or moved back... it can happen. One of the Navy Moms who's son deployed 3 years ago, got to the airport at 9am and her son's flight had been moved forward to 8:30am, his boarding pass was for 11am. Wait and talk with your son and see what he wants you to do. Some don't want to say goodbye and prefer not to have everyone at the airport.
We got a phone call. He also says that he has to be at the airport Sat. morning but did not know a time yet. Will be so a good to see him on Friday and possibly again at the airport on Sat. It was great to hear from him, he sounded good and excited about battle stations and finishing up.
He gave us a list of what to bring in a small black suitcase. (hoping the suitcase is okay, I have always read backpack on here, but he said suitcase.) It was funny how particular he was about what to bring and how to bring it! He never communicated so clearly in his life! : - )
