How's everyone doing?

Just found this site. My son left on 4/23 and PIR is 4/22/11, ship 03, div 147.  So far have only received "the box" and the form letter with a short note.  No other letters or phone calls as of today :-(   Sure do miss him dropping by work and taking me to lunch, even miss the dirty laundry....

Hi Maresis!!! Welcome! Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile. It's cool to see we have another sailor in our division! Lol you miss the dirty laundry that's cute!!!
So glad some of us got phone calls today!!! Such an amazing feeling! Almost less than 30 days left!! We can do this ladies! Also my boyfriend mentioned he made a really good friend from seattle... if anyone's sailor is from there send me an inbox of his name and we can see if our sailors are friends!

I got the phone call today!  He called on my cell at work with awful reception plus his background noise was so loud! But had a great conversation and we sounds soooooo good! Yes SamanthaGPF<3 AMAZING feeling! I am rejuvenated to get through this next 30 Days! Yay!!

Jennifer

Yay! So happy for you Jennieo10!
Yippee...a phone call at 3:30 pm PST here in Seattle yesterday.  My son called me at work...such a fabulous surprise :-)  He said he passed all his tests so far.  His birthday is next Monday and he is sorta bummed about that. He said they all really look forward to mail call, food & sleep...not sure if in that order :)  He did say he got all his wisdom teeth pulled the week after they arrived and his jaw still aches but otherwise doing fine. Still scheduled for 4/22 PIR and then he goes across the street for A-school so he'll be staying in Chicago.  His only request is keep the mail coming and he'd like more pictures included of family, pets, friends, home, etc. :) Miss him so much but so proud of him!!
My daughter is the same ship/division.  I think it is a brother/sister flight/ship.  I was married to Air Force for several years so that is the military lingo I know! :)  She called yesterday and sounded fine....tired but fine.  Said they yell at them alot but she is the Yoeman for the Division, so I am sure she is getting yelled at ALOT.  She is homesick.  Said alot of recruits were getting sick becuase the weather is bipolar there......said she had to get five fillings the other day from the dentist.  I told her they were using her as a medical hobby shop because our dentist said she was fine before she left! :)  She just laughed!  Very anxious for PIR and said she hopes to call again in a few weeks.  Said I will have to live on letters now! :) Hope there is one in the mail waiting for me after work! :)

Hi Lonna, my son sounded tired but positive as well.  He said the same thing when I asked if he had a cold and said that a lot of them were sick off and on since he got there.  He said his job was laundry, he thought I would get a laugh out of that one...LOL, indeed!

Hi DIV 147,

Was curious if u all decided as to whether or not u were going to wear the same colored scarf as ur brother division 148?  Sherri had posted on he for you all a few days ago.

K&D no we haven't talked about but we will. Thank you!!
Does anyone want to wear the scarves?
