Hey everyone!

I just got the letter from RTC with Ashley's address and grad date (May 06,2011) Does anyone else have a future sailor on the same ship and division?

That would be so nice.

I'm a little slow, what is marlinspike?

marelinespike is where the SR's get to go on a "real" ship, its made by some Hollywood studio or something, and practice manning it.  They tie knots and all that good stuff.  I hear it is the first time they really feel like they are in the navy.

Ohhh  it sounds like something they7'll maybe enjoy too!

What is IT? I think Jenn said something about them being IT'd... sorry LOL is there a place I can go to learn all these terms? LOL

DK...

Blonde moment...info about??  LOL About Arise?

I didn't forget you guys with the sauce recipe either, I am going to make it on Sunday and measure my amounts so I give you the right measurements.

I got a letter from daughter Marissa last Friday. She is in Ship 02 Div 925 and she had told me also about the 40 minute IT because of the boys talking. She had told me 1 girl passed out and another threw up. She said she did ok but was really tired!! I find if funny that it was the boys talking usually its the girls!!! But it sounds like they got their act together!!
SOunds like the boys are being difficult.. no surprise!  LOL
My SR said that "so far" the girls are getting along.. but she can see that there will be a blow up at some point.  I think the immature girls are irritating the more mature girls.

did you all get phone calls tonight?  I told my husband that I heard they were crying at IT and he said it was the girls =)  He sounds GREAT!!  It was amazing to hear his voice.  When I told him how much he got paid he was so excited.  God this is an awesome week.

Oh he also said he had gained weight b/c they weren't working him out as hard as he had been at home.  He said he is starting to sleep really well there, he had joked with his friends that it meant he was getting too used to the place.  He made me wake up our son to put him on the phone.  He said when they pulled his teeth, they only gave him ibuprofen.  He gave me the OK to spend as much as I want to do my hair and nails and get an outfit for PIR =)  He said he is not performing, he's a backup, and he has NO IDEA how he got put into the 900's.

We got a call too! JUST hung up and she was doing GREAT!!!!!!!  LOL The girls say it was the guys...too funny.

What an incredible end to the week!!!

I am wishing and hoping for your call to come next DK.... :)
I hope you get a call soon DK, I asked about your son btw, but they only go by last names so he didn't know.
Oh and he was laughing about how confused I was about what day it was.  Today is 2-5, and he seems to be kind of clueless about what is coming up.  He asked me what PIR was LOL.  I laughed b/c I think I know more about what he's going through then he does.  He didn't even seem to know what marlinespike was!  I guess all my studying up on the Navy is paying off!

aveo, I know you are like a Navy encyclopedia! LOL  My daughter is in a performing group too, her last name is Leahy, I'll bet they know each other. She carries the Wyoming flag at the graduations and said she will get to carry it at the May 6th PIR too. She also said, she is grad and go and may only get to see us Friday night and then ships out to A school Saturday, she said her chief told her to tell us that.

Apparently they are going to classification this coming week and she said her rate may be changed. She isn't too upset about it, she took the PS rate to get in quickly knowing they were phasing it out next year and she would cross rate, but she may be able to avoid that altogether. She wants MA or EOD... Um EOD... yikes!! I hope not!!!  I can only protest so much, she's 21 now...

So tell us, aveo... what hairstyle are you getting ???LOL and what are you wearing... I need some ideas... I have NO IDEA what I am wearing LOL...
