Hi Gardening Brenda my son leaves March 21, use the link Jessica B posted and come join us.  Everyone's recruit leaves in March..we have a lot of wonderful women, some of us have been chatting since June.  Just post hello and you will get plenty of responses.  What rate is your son, mine is an OS.

my boyfriend leaves March 22nd also, out of St. Paul,MN! I am soo nervous, sad, but proud.

my son flew out of Fargo late on the 23rd (no thanks to the blizzard on Tuesday)-was ship/division is he?

Hello there.  There is a group of us started that all have loved ones in the same group.  They all went the same day.  Feel free to join us!!

Hi Brenda, my son left March 22, so they are probably in the same boot camp.  He is in Ship 7 div 171.  It was a tough day, huh?  I have gotten a little used to him being gone, but every day, I wonder "what is he doing now?"  " is he sleeping at all?" "is he making GOOD friends?"  haha!  Hope your transition goes well.--Jenn

Hi Jenn! It was such a surreal day for us. It was blizzarding outside and we were convinced they weren't coming, but nope, they showed up and made it to Fargo that evening, where they (recruiter and son) were stranded until 10 p.m. the next night. I'm used to him being gone since he goes to his dad's every summer for a month, but then I could call/text whenever I wanted to. To not talk is different, especially when I'm wondering the same things you are! It's funny, I just wrote to him today and asked him that very question-have you made any friends? And yes, he got plenty of sleep here, so I'm wondering/worried about that, too. He loves his sleep.. How old is your son? Are you planning on going to PIR? Where are you from? I'm a speech coach at my school and spend all week working with my kids and then all day Saturday at the speech meet so tomorrow I'm dedicating the day to making reservations for that weekend. So exciting! I'm watching the NCAA game right now so I can write to my son and tell him the details of the games. We always watch the final four together as well as the NBA playoffs, so it's kind of sad to be watching alone. Ah, they have to grow up and leave the nest sometime...-Brenda
