Funny how things hit you emotionally, huh?

whats the matter. see you pic. had a memory,, got a letter.
How many phone calls have you received? I missed the call when he first got there. Then I got one around the time of the tsunami, and one last weekend. Now I am worried that I have received too many calls and that he is not doing well. I am so stressed over his PIR date being changed, I too was not able to get refundable tickets due to the price being so high. I didn't receive a call during week three....this is all so confusing. Has your recruit said anything about how the division is doing? Mine just talked about marlinspike, and how much fun it was. And that they only had a total of five safety violations. Also does any one know when the final PFA is? I was really worried about him not being able to pass.
It's funny I worry the opposite. I have hardly gotten any phones calls. I think the division has had a rough time and they have to earn calls. I got 1 call when he got there, a second call that week for additional security references and a 3 minute call 2 weeks ago this past wednesday. He did get to talk to his dad longer that week. I have told people I am carrying my cell phone and will interupt them if I receive that call, but nothing yet. We get a letter every thursday tho. I can't wait to hear from him and finally see him. He had made a friend, Luis. Does he belong to any of you out there?

Hi

My son wrote about marlinspike in this last leader. he was the line captain and go to call out the orders. he said they were just under the time and had the fewest violations. He also passed PFA, weapons training and personal inspections. He said they tried on their Dress Blues I cried then to picture him in it. He said its difficult to get in them and they were taking pictures this last week. He sounded more positite and I feel this was the best letter to date.

I guess we get to sweat it together. Just wish we knew when they were calling!
Dress Blues. I was wondering which they would have the blues or the whites, or both. Glad that you have received a letter, and that your seaman is doing well. I will be checking the mail later to see if I have a letter today. Why is there different colors of dress uniforms?? What does that signify? I have so many questions for my SR, cant wait till his next call. 20 more days!
My husband says they have Dress Blues during the winter and they wear Dress Whites during the summer. I was hoping for Dress Blues too.

I had the silly idea we would get a phone call today

I was hoping they would have dress blues.  :)

They are really snazzy looking!

I'm so glad I found this group!  My son is 21, but this isn't his first time away from home - he was in mechanics school for a year.  His fiance and cousin are both in the navy as well.  I've gotten some nice letters and his fiance has gotten tons from him - she & I call each other every time we get a letter! His younger brother (age 7) has gotten one from him as well, but my daughter is waiting for hers!

Are other moms planning on wearing navy scarves?  anything else?  I think that would be great. I absolutely can't wait until graduation - I didn't realize how proud I would be!
