Hi everyone...I did not see a discussion started yet for our ship and division so I thought I would create one while I am feeling full of positive energy.  If one has been started I apologize for overlooking it.

My name is Pearl and I am engaged to an amazing future sailor who I will get to see again on 4/29.  I had been having a hard time, but as of today things are starting to look up.  I finally have made contact with Bryan.  He has been writing me every night.  My envelope contained letters from 2/27 through 3/7 and 3/4 there were 2.  I feel so lucky to have someone so devoted to me and my four kids.  And I now know to expect at some point in time another envelope filled with a bunch of letters.

I am from Pennsylvania.  Where is everyone else from? Will you be going to the graduation?  I am going and will be staying at the Homewood Suites, which is approximately 11 miles from the training center.  Has anyone planned out an itinerary?  I have been so busy thinking about seeing him that so far I haven't even thought of what we may do while we are there.

My fiance mentioned that he had watch one night with a Single A / Minor league baseball pitcher from Detroit.  I know the way he loves baseball that had to be up his alley.

I hope everyone else within our division starts to finally receive mail.  It is such a good feeling to see that envelope.  Thought for sure I was going to cry like I did when I received that graduation information, but instead I am so happy.

Please feel free to ask questions.  My letters are personal, but there are sections of each letter where he is telling me about his day.  I would be more than happy to share.

actually that is one thing I didn't hear....maybe it will be in an upcoming letter....that is awesome news...

Bryan's phone call was more on a personal note...he knows I am having a hard time with him being gone for 4 years... I am not going wherever he gets stationed because i do not want to take my children away from their dad.  I sometimes, when thinking pessimistically can't help but wonder how it is going to work if I am here and he is there for 4 years.  I know we will get sometime, but I just sometimes don't know if that will be enough.  Bryan is very optimistic.  I wish I could be like that.  There are definitely days I feel more positive than other days and believe we can accomplish anything.

The whole division scored high on some test... I forget what it was on, but some academic test they took this past week. I think they carry the flag with them on graduation... I'm not sure how it works with a 900 Div though. There are several flags a division can earn... I don't know them all though

From http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/about.asp :

"Excellence in academic achievement, military drill, cleanliness and athletics all count toward earning recognition flags."

I got another letter today! In his letter, E wrote what his part will be in PIR. The division was assigned jobs last Saturday, 3/26 when they visited the Drill Hall.  He is going to be a body snatcher! Haha :) He was probably assigned this job because he is so tall and strong!

In an earlier letter, E wrote, "My first night at boot camp there was a chief interviewing recruits and they picked me to be in the 900 division.  I've heard they picked the recruits who they thought would look best in uniform haha! :)"

We must all have a good looking SR!! :)

I got a letter from my husband yesterday too! He said that he had to get the high and tight hair cut too. I hope that they do good on their inspections so that they can get another phone call!
Still waiting for another letter... after receiving 4 in one week, I've only gotten one last Thursday... Hoping for more soon!! Has everyone's SRs written that they may get another call if the division does well on inspections? I'm excited!
dayciavu, can they not buy stamps there? I have asked my hubby if he needs more but he hasn't said anything.

Got another letter! Found out that div 924 has a marching inspection this week and Marlinespike this Friday. He says the division has come a long way and that they've grown as a team.

ET also mentioned some of the friends he's made in the division.  He mentioned SRs with last names starting with B, C, R, and W. I asked him if he knew any of your SRs, and he said that he knows your fiance, Pearl, because he is the top runner of the division! :)

LOL...yea who would have thought Bryan would be the top runner...I knew he liked to run, but I didn't realize he was that good....spoke to him tonight and sounds like he was top runner again at their last PFT...guess he has the record for sit ups too.

I just joined N4M. My son is also Ship 02, Division 924 I received 2nd letter from him Tuesday April 5th. He mailed it March 23rd.

He says that it's getting easier and easier everyday, and the hardest part (surprisingly) is not wakng up but staying awake especially during classes. He said that he hasn't gotten in any trouble with that but some have. He says that their division is still in the tougher part of training, lasting up until our fourth week called "Hell week" because of all the inspections and boring things we have to do that week. It is after that week that we start getting into the real fun stuff, such as firefighting, gas chamber, gun range and Battle Stations.

We are going to be staying at my sisters in Huntley IL but I would like to meet up with some from his division if possible. We are from Central FL and are flying in the 28th. It's good to talk to others in the ship and division as my son is intials are K O D

Hi everyone i'm so confused lol this site takes you everywhere...well my son graduates on the 29th same div and ship...so good to finaly be somewhere here that I know everyone else will be lol

I was reading all your all post and congrats to all of you our boys husbands young men are doing well now I got a letter from mine finally he seems more up beat also makes my mind at ease but he does say this group of men/women are so unorganized lol and he lost a bet he says he now has to get a dolphin tat with bubbles coming out haha his girlfriend said I don't think so hehe ....ty all for this ...oh I do have a question about tickets to the graduation tho I need to get 9 of them all together but I don't know if he can get them or not I know it's only 4 per family but I have the parents coming too lol

Yea!  Ship 2 Div 924 is making phone calls tonight!  Just got off the phone with my son.  He called about 7:30 Eastern Time! Keep your phones handy!
