I have a daughter that will be heading to FMTB on March 16th, what do I need to expect while she is there. We only live about 2 hours from the base and want to take advantage of her being so close. After training she will be heading to California and who knows when we will get to see her for a visit, so we would like to have some time with her while she is so close. Everything I read is about a son in training, I would love to hear from some mom's that has had a daughter go through the training and also what life is like for our daughters once they are deployed. My daughter has told me that there is some restrictions on the females once they are deployed. Any info is appreciated.

Hi Moms,

My son is currently in FMTB and due to graduate on the 13th, this was a great source of information when he was in Great Lakes so I figured I would see whats out here now. Anyone planning on attending graduation? Any suggestions on a decent hotel/motel int he area? We will be driving from New Jersey

Hi Everyone - We are going on the 13th as well!! So excited, Dan's dad mentioned Emerald Isle a bit away from the base, and I saw on the website that there seems to be a couple of lodges on the base, there also seems to be beach cabins to rent on the base that are suppose to be neat. It does seem most everyone stays at the Baymont Inn, I noticed it is about 5-10 minutes from the base. I think if you decide to stay on the base they guys can reserve rooms. I suppose it depends on how much time you have and what your graduate would like to do. Sometimes it seems like they want to get away from the base for a bit for a breather but .......

My son is stationed on the base for 3 years so I am looking forward to seeing his home, work, life now. I guess with the Navy/Marines I wont always be able to do that so I am going to enjoy it this time.

Does anyone have a corpmen starting March 12th, 2012?
