Son leaving for BOOTCAMP 4-7-11...anyone else with the same start date?

My son is headed for Great Lakes on 4-7-11 ( or maybe he goes to MEPS first and from there to Boot).  He has been DEP since November 2010 and is anxious  to start basic.  After basic he is to go to Meridian, MS for "A" school.  Can anyone tell me if they get much liberty between basic and "A" school?

My son leaves Monday, April 4th.  I had a few tears already but I need to stop doing this.  I'm praying everything goes smoothly.
I have a question.  Does everyone who starts bootcamp this week graduate on the same day since graduation is on a Friday.  If my son starts on April 4th will he probably graduate on May 27th?  I really need to find out because I have to ask off from work as soon as possible.

Jo1   most all graduations (PIR Pass In Review) are on Friday...unless there is a holiday and then it is on Thurs and occasionally Wed.

You can guestimate the PIR by adding 8 weeks to theirdeparture date and then going to the next Friday. BUT, do NOT make any travel plans till you get the form letter to confirm the PIR date.

you can call the recruiter 72 hours after your rct left to get the address

JessicaB,

Thank you so much for answering my question....:)

jo1 you're welcome...also go to your page and scroll down to read the greeting message I left you on your comment wall. It has links and info that may be helpful
My son Sean just left the tears were there and it ws a had time but so proud of him

My son told me that he "may" come home at T'giving and would come home at Christmas.  Then, it depends on when a spot opens up in A school - it could be 2 months, 1 month or 2 weeks, etc.  They roll into A school slots when they open up.  He thought that there would be a more extended home leave during that time, but like anything else, don't get your hopes up until it definitely is happening.

my son just called -on his way to meps to begin the journey to basic he sounds nervous but ok-I just keep crying and missing him

Patty,

I'm glad that you heard from your son.  My son left Monday and it's hard!  I haven't slept well the last two nights.
