I hate to say it but I am on the verge of tears every second of the day lately.  I am just so tense inside bc of the silence.  I am sitting here waiting for the mailman to come and praying something is there.  I must say, I get just as excited to hear from you all also, hoping you received letters.  I know they will all start coming in around the same time or it will indicate to me they are really coming.  I am sure they are fine, but that reassurance will put me at ease.  I have read some recruits that have communicated have been really down and that will break my heart.  I feel like I am in bootcamp also!!

I'am at work right now, and it's all I can do not to cry.  How do you handle it.  I just want to know if he's ok, or if he's absolutely miserable.

He is probably absolutely miserable, and fine... You handle it. I know it's hard, but you lean on your other Navy moms and know that you're not going through this alone. There are over 6,000 moms, dads, girlfriends, boyfriends, husband and wives going through this with us at any given time....and that's just NAVY bootcamp. LOL  He'll be fine and having an incredible sense of accomplishment when this is all through. Remember pregnancy and labor? Something really awesome comes from all that pain! :-)

I've noticed that I have been way more emotional the last few days as well.  I think it is the "not knowing" that is being so tough to handle right now.  Just want to hear that she is doing okay and feeling good about everything.
Well I'm not a mom. I'm a husband. Never been apart from each other this long and I agree it sucks BIG TIME! But I know that my wife is in good hands. I find that researching navy bootcamp online leads to TONS of info. Which in turn also passes time. This sucks. No doubt about it. Just keep in mind the feeling you will have WHEN they finish and you get the "I'm a sailor" call..... Hang in there ladies(and guys too)! Were all in this together in one way or another! =)
Also if you are on Facebook... ADD the Navy RTC page. Someone on there almost 7 days a week answering questions. Plus tons of support from others going through this too!

Mail call!  yay!! Got 2 letters today.  My dtr said she is well and the food is awesome!  Always good to hear.  She also said they were black flagged Intensive Training and she hurt her knee.  She made it clear it is not good!  Lol And she has head cleaning duties~YUCK!  Lol  She said when she is down she reads my letters for strength which makes me feel great!  That is such incentive to write more!  She also mentioned some get NO MAIL!  That breaks my heart for them.  My day just went from 0 to 20 when I got the mail.  I'm sure everyones are coming today or tomorrow!!!!  She mentioned in week 3 (whik ch they just flipped to week2) they will get tues and thur afternoons off and sundays.  She can call week 3 so we can look for a call maybe later next week or the week after.  Something awesome to look forward to!  Maybe if we all share details, we can figure out all about our group!  So relieved!!!!  Happy mailman stalking everyone!! :-)
I've wrote every day since I recieved address & ran to mail box most days the other days I had the neighbors check box for me and I haven't heard a word. How far did your letter have to go? We are in VA. I really need a letter or something. My son is there-SAM maybe your daughter has met him.Glad you heard from your daughter.
I am from Buffalo.  All our loved ones are together so I know they had Sunday off.  She said starting week 3 they will get Tues and Thur afternoons off also.  They will be able to also call home in the third week.  She said weekends don't count as days and on Monday they were 1-3.  I am assuming that means they are in week 2 now and next week will be week 3?  Not totally sure.  I could tell she had my letter right there and was trying to answer my questions.  I am sure yours will be there tomorrow.  I think Thur are going to be my mail day and maybe Fri is yours!  I am eager to hear how her version compares to what others in the same div are talking about their exp.  I asked her if she has gotten yelled at and she said yes-for stupid stuff and she laughed.  I could tell she was scared and down, but she was being very strong.  I'm so proud-Hope this helps a little!
Today is the BEST day ever!!! I got the letter I had looked for for 2 1/2 weeks!! He loves the navy. which doesn't surprise me knowing how he is. Foods good, training isn't bad, meeting alot of people.  Now I can rest alittle easier,It's amazing how a 3 page letter can make you feel so good. This from a 19 year old how only knew how to text. Never wrote a letter in his life.If they only reieve mail on Sundays than he;s probaly going to be surprised---I've mail one everyday .  He's a great kid & now on his way to being a GREAT man!!!!!  Thanks
