My daughter leaves for bootcamp in June and I have a million questions!

I would love to talk with other mom's that have a daughter in the Navy. My daughter leaves in June and some of the information on N4M is confusing. And although we like her recruiter, he doesn't have a lot of information about ladies in the Navy. Please Help A Worried Momma!

This is the e-mail address I have from my American Legion Riders group Post 240 Chapman, KS  dharold@alr240.org

Hi bcmadness! I've been where you are.  There are lots of mom's with girls in the Navy so, go ahead and ask.  What would you like to know?  BTW, I'm in KC, MO

Thank You So Much!

First-

We are confused about what she is suppose to be bringing to bootcamp.

Second-

We are having questions about pap smears- her paperwork says to bring in documentation showing she has had one in the last 6 months or one will be done. She doesn't want one done. Any Advice?

Third-

What hotel is reccomended for us to stay at during graduation?

She needs to bring about $20 for the trip in case she wants snacks on the trip. Everything she has on when she gets to Boot Camp will be put in a box and mailed home. This includes cell phone and underwear.
On the Pap smear ask her if she would rather have a woman doctor she can pick or have to have it done in front of a bunch of men doctors in the Navy with very little privacy. Maybe that will help her.
We stayed at the Ramada near the venue. Be sure to tell them you are attending PIR because they give military families discounts.
You will need to take your daughters cell phone, laptop (or whatever she wants to take) to the airport when she flies to A school after PIR. My email is sherry.scheffer@live.com if you want to talk privately :-)

My son left in June for Boot camp also and I to have so much to learn, I feel like the recruiter was not the best he could be with us, no information what so ever!
