Hi everyone,

My boyfriend left for bootcamp on april 5th, 4 days ago and i write him a letter every day but they all just look soo boring. We are a fun couple and we are always laughing and making jokes so seeing black or blue ink on a plain white piece of paper just seems so boring and so not like us! I want to send him fun things that he will laugh and get a big smile on his face when he sees but i cant think of anything! Any one have any ideas on how to spice up my letters?

Oh and one thing i thought of was to send his letters in bright colored envelopes... sound like a good idea?

Send pictures or draw him something John said he loved that.
I didnt think of that! I love to draw so i will totally do that! Thanks
i went and bought green envelopes, i soooo badly wanted to get the bright pink ones i seen but i resisted!  I like the idea of the envelopes everytime he see that colored envelope he will know its a letter from me :D Just as long as no one else has that same color green! lol jokes are always good, i haven't found any that ive found absolutely hilarious so i just hint at all of our inside jokes :D
I just brought a box full of colorful envelopes! It has yellow, orange, blue, green, and red so he will get all different colors! Let me know if you find any funny jokes i think im going to put a post-it in each letter with a joke on it.
I doodle on the letters, and if there's room, I'll write lists. like, "I miss you more than ____ misses ____" fat kid misses candy, superman misses krypton, zombies miss brains. I made a "how to make Paula&C" recipe, 2 cups adorableness, etc. Pictures of pretty much everything. Family, friends, his favorite food, pictures of us. He draws me too, sometimes it's a level from mario by memory (haha, we're dooooorks), outer space, I drew our wedding with imaginary stick figures. I play sims and doodle those, or talk about them/print pictures of all the sim babies we had, haha.. Sometimes I do the lipstick on the paper, seal it with a kiss. Draw symbols of love (claddaugh <3), traced my hand so he could place his on mine. Moustaches, ahaha. I draw those. Interesting news articles, plans or forms of questions so he can answer/mail them back.
OMG paula i LOVE your ideas! the superman one is perfect for my man, he LOVES superman lol. I was already doing something like that (in every letter i put one of those heart shaped post-it notes and write i love you because or i love you more or i miss you more) i am so going to have to steal yours though! thanks alot!

No problem! Glad to be of any help. Really, even plain ol' text makes them happy. And it'll come naturally to you to do something cute/considerate because if you're anything like me, you'll be thinking of your fella alllll the time!   :)

Oh, whatever you do, do NOT send cards that make noise. Not a good situation for the person who receives it. You may hav already known that but wanted to throw that in there. :)
When Max and I first got together, we totally bonded over Chuck Norris jokes...for some reason they always crack both of us up!  So I have been sending him Chuck Norris jokes, and he LOVES them!
Cait - I doodled out stick figures that represent the 100 reasons why I love him. For instance, "I love that I feel safe with you" I doodled a stick man holding a stick girl in his arms and a word bubble coming from here saying "hold me tight!" Just think about things yall have done together...your favorite restaurants, activities, past times, and write him about it. Recalling those memories will make him feel closer to home! Also, talk about things you'd like to do in the future. It will get him excited and give him something to look forward to when he gets out! :) Find his favorite sports/news articles and send them! & most of all never forget to tell him HOW PROUD you are of him! :) Hope this helps!
i was told i couldnt send articles?
I trace my hand and write songs in it. I also started tracing things he loves. My wedding ring, his xbox remote, his madden disk. I also send pics of what im writing to him about or of me writing to him.. I have the fml app on my phone and I send him funny posts from it. My 3 yr old likes to decorate the background when im done. Ohhhh and silly little grade school our intials equals heart and whatt not :)
