Does anyone else have an SR in this division?

My hubby is
My wife is in that ship and division.

My son is in ship 2, div 929

what is the difference between the 180 numbers and the 900 numbers? Just wondering if there's a method to the madness?
the 900s are performance divisions :). So they will be performing in graduation :). Most Nukes get put into 900s and anyone with band or drill backgrounds. I've been told its a huge honor to be in a 900 div because so much more is expected of you. You have to do what everyone else has to do/ is expected to do plus saturdays are nothing but practice. Be proud :)!

At first I thought it was because he played the sax in middle school but obviously not - he is a nuke! :)

thanks so much!

This is great news! Thanks so much

My son is too!!

My daughter is too!  She is going to A school for Hospital Corpsman
My husband is :) I've been reading about people who've been in the performance divisions, and apparently most of them, despite the extra work, really enjoy going to rehearsal. It's more fun than sitting in a classroom doing something else!

So if your loved one is in 929 and is a nuke, does that mean they are performing?  I just don't understand why the nukes are in same division as those who play or march?

No, not necessarily. It is possible that nukes have to take classes when the musicians/drill are rehearsing.

Also, nukes had to have scored higher on their ASVAB to get their job, it could be that they have the nukes in the same division to help out musicians with their academic studies or something. Musicians still have to make good grades on everything, because the rehearsals are a privilege, not just part of their division.

I've also heard that nukes sometimes get a lot of crap at boot camp from non-nukes, this just may be a way to diffuse that by putting them in with a group that has special responsibilities.
