Please post where your sailors are going to A school! I know that my son is waiting for his to start as well, he is in Charleston, SC (I started a new discussion group for Nuke school).  We also spent time with our son at Midway Airport and met several of the young men that were going to Charleston with him, but most are from the other divisions and not 116. Such fun, we were given the ability to ride the train to downtown Chicago and spent most of the day with our very distinguished looking SAILOR!  Friend me if you haven't already... I really want to pray for all of our sailors! Blessings!
You probably did. I was the one who drooped my camera. I had no idea either. If my mother wasn't hobbling along behind me I would have never known! My son is in San Antonio, TX. He is going to be training for Master At Arms. His flight left early Sat moning from Midway Chicago. We got a call at 2:25 am asking where are you?? I had only been asleep for a few hours. It was a little rough but definitely worth it :) I am also praying for our sailors to be safe & happy!
Overtheedge... one of the other Moms lives in San Antonio and is wanting to provide "meals" etc. her link is:  bren (ship 11/div 118)  friend her and then maybe give the information to your son if he needs a home cooked meal.  She is really nice, we visited at PIR and have chatted on the TEXAS Moms group page etc. Any others that have a Sailor in San Antonio... please friend her!!! I am going to the SC Moms group page to see if there are any who want to adopt mine!
Thank you very much..I will!!!
I have no idea why, but I thought that was your family!  I saw you drop the camera and saw her tell you.  You guys were the last ones out of there.  Sorry we didn't get to meet.   Oh wait, I know why I thought that was you.  At one point before PIR started I saw you talk to your sailor as he was standing  by the 120 sign.  Then when they let honor grad families leave early I figured that was you!
Hello everyone~just checking in to see how everyone's sailors are doing? My son is coming home on the 27th for 2 weeks! I can't wait to spend some time with him. He will be stationed in Washington State for 2 years. i have always wanted to see the Pacific Northwest so this is music to my ears :) I am going to start saving for a trip to Alaska.

Yea!   I am so glad that things are going well for him!  I forgot what his rate was.  Is he in Washington for the next round of school?  I  loved Washington and Oregon when we were there.  But I didn't get as far as Alaska, we only made it into Canada a little ways.  (Beautiful there too)  I can't wait to hear about it because I expect you to post on here every once in awhile!  :  )

My son waited two weeks before his classes started.  He will come home towards the end of June.  We do not know yet where he will go but we are hoping they find out soon.  He is training to be a sonar tech on surface ships so he will have more schooling.  He could even end up back in San Diego.  He is enjoying it there and has made new friends although he misses some guys from BC.  No one from their class went to San Diego with him!

Thanks for updating.  I look forward to keeping up with you from time to time!
