what a RELIEF! but my poor son has been sick for 2 weeks (from getting the flu shots). He said he had a fever during Battlestations which made it really difficult. He said he's not even participating in Captain's Cup because he feels so lousy. :-(

I talked to him for an hour. He sounded SO tired. Ugh, I hope a good night's sleep does him good.

I'm so sorry your son is sick.  I hope he feels better soon.
Will you be able to come to graduation?
oh yes! me, my husband, 3 more kids and my parents! So excited to see him!
That is fantastic!  I will be there along with 8 other family members.  I hope to see you there.  Have a safe trip!
you too!
Sandy, Maisy, Justeeny, and LM Mom -- CONGRATS!! So happy your SR's are staying until SUNDAY!! I hope the whole division is leaving Sunday now...that would be great!  My honey goes to GL, so I am lucky!  Can't wait to see you all on Thursday! Sounds like they did awesome on their drill inspection!! Super glad I got a call today from recruit heaven!  Haha they also got 2nd on Captains Cup too....WOOT GO 132!!

yes, my son did say they won 2nd place at Captain's Cup.

I'm SO upset though. When I thought (and RTC confirmed on facebook) he was leaving early Sat am, I made plans to come home Fri eve, as my daughter has a very important dance competition on Sat (she is a competitive dancer and is one of the best on her team - she gets featured a lot). So thinking we had to say goodbye anyway on Fri eve, I bought nonrefundable plane tickets and told her studio she could dance.

Now he is staying and I can't be with him. My husband and two sons are able to stay, but I feel absolutely awful. On top of it, he believes he gets overnight liberty. I am so torn. I have 2 kids with important events and I was trying to do both. Ugh.  :-(

That really sucks...I'm so sorry for you, that's gotta be so hard.  At least his dad and brothers get to stay...but I wish you had more time with him.  That has got to be hard juggling things for both kids.  And I guess you never know what will happen, nothing in the Navy seems certain until it actually happens!  At least he gets to spend a little more time with his dad and brothers, and you get to see him Friday!

I know you feel bad about having to leave but I am sure your son will understand and your daughter will appreciate your sacrifice.  I have 2 children (young adults) and I appreciate your situation and I applaud your efforts to show both your son and daughter your support.

So Tropikal.....not every recruit gets to stay....I'm eagerly awaiting my phone call .....today sometime....
