Yes you will not hear from him till you get the form letter...it will only have a few lines from him. Then a few weeks later you'll start getting letters and the occasional call.

You should be able to get the addy from the recruiter

hi Jessica, my son left for navy boot camp on apr 11..got that call on apr 12 saying he had arrived.

I am really worried about him since I got a call yesterday saying he is not doing well. what do we do in these situations.

I am so sorry your son isn't doing well - I pray that it isn't medical - only him having a hard time

I was told by another mom that it is good for them to call/write and vent to us - but they are really ok!!

My son left the same day - prayers for them all

Have you gotten his box of belongings yet?  that was tough

Get used to not hearing from him. It's the hardest part! Truely though, in the Navy, no news IS good news! It will get better ...

I received the box yesterday which surprised me since he only got there Tuesday night. Marie

Either one of you want to form the 6/10 PIR group?

I want to wait to get my letter with dates - then would be happy to form the PIR group

when did you get your letter??  how long did it take??

Thank you--it is so hard not being able to speak with them-----we did receive a form letter and he is doing OK--he is supposed to graduate June 3-----I looked at airfares and they are soooooo expensive!!!!!

My son is in Ship 04 DIV812??  anyone else??

When did you get that information???  I am hoping for mine today!!!!!   or really soon

hi  my daughter also left on 4-12  she made that same quick call and havent got the letter yet with address. we did get her box on saturday. i know this is a good thing but i'm still heart sick for her.  does anyone know if the are supplied with things like paper and stamps?

Hi Gabby's mom - I sent stamps - but they are supplied with paper and envelopes - at least a few

I am going to send more with my first letter -but was also told that they can't receive care packages - so no goodies yet................

I got my son's box on thursday - it is still sitting in my room so I can look at his handwriting......

So glad I found the group that has the same ship out date as mine!!!

prayers for all of us and them
