Son leaving for BOOTCAMP 4-7-11...anyone else with the same start date?

My son is headed for Great Lakes on 4-7-11 ( or maybe he goes to MEPS first and from there to Boot).  He has been DEP since November 2010 and is anxious  to start basic.  After basic he is to go to Meridian, MS for "A" school.  Can anyone tell me if they get much liberty between basic and "A" school?

I cant sleep well myself-keep wondering how he is and if all ok  ugh!!

It is hard - one thing that helped me was watching the film in the Boot Camp forum on what to expect the first few days - it was candid and helped me visualize how the days were going for my son.  I have sent him a few text messages knowing even that his phone is probably on the way back to Texas but it makes me feel better in some strange way sending out positive vibes.  Overall I am happy for him but it is definitely a life-changer for us too.
My son's box came home today. Kinda sad. :(

Gail,

My son's box came today too.  It's a really strange and sad feeling seeing all his things in a box.

The letter came today with the graduation information and address.  MY son graduates on 5-27-11 and is Div 184.

I hane not received the letter or teh box-I wonder when that will be here-he arrived on April 6.  Missing sean

pattyb call the recruiter tomorrow for the address. You'll probably get both this week.
Hi lujos mom,  My son left on 4/7 also.  He is in ship 07 Div188.  He is going into the Nuke program.   He was in DEP since July and will go to Charleston, SC for A school.  I've heard not much liberty between basic and A school but 10 days after A school.  Don't know if that is just true for Nuke program as that is the forum I've been on.

Thanks for the info.  I went on but am interested in hooking up with people in the same division.  Does someone have to start a new link for that?
