Hello ! My stepson left for boot camp to the Great Lakes from New Hampshire on 04/19/11. Just wondering if anyone else has loved ones who left on this date as well.

I noticed your screen name, and think our kids might be in the same division. My daughter left on the 18th and is in division 2011 200. At least that's what I gather from the address the recruitor gave me.

Thanks for the response ! We have not received "The Box" yet and I am not sure what his division is. We did get the 25 sec phone call letting us know he was there and would contact us again in 2 weeks. Praying our kids have a safe 8 weeks :-)
Hi Teach2, It looks like too many numbers for a Division. Unless you mean Div. 200 for the year 2011
My son left on 4/19 also. The flight got cancelled out of Atlanta due to bad weather. He didn't call me until 2 pm yesterday saying that he made it to Great Lakes. I know they all have to be tired with the busy days and short nights. What job rating is your stepson going to after BC? Mine will be going to Pensacola for "IT" training.
My son told me he would be calling in 3 weeks. Amen on the prayers.
I called her recruiter today and he gave me her address. One line says "Ship 11 Division 2011" and then he said (recruiter as he was reading the address), "then there's a space and 200"  Soooo.. I'm assuming it's division 2011 or does that mean division 200 -and you're right- it's the year. I don't know. But I want to!!!!!
Hello!  My son left on 4/19/2011 also, from Tennesee.  He had numerous delays for his flight but he finally called at 2:05 am to say he made it & at 3:30 am to let me know that I would be getting the "box" in about 2 weeks
My son just left 4/20. I also got the 3:30am phone call that lasted approx. 10 seconds. I have no idea where to send any mail to ? I've been so nervous that I never thought to ask? Oh my goodness.  this is so stressfull for me. I have been so tired and forgetful for some reason.
  1. Hi Casey's Mom - The recruiter told us we would receive a packet of information approx 2 weeks into bootcamp. This will contain his/her division and address information. You should also receive another call from your son in that 2 week time period that will last a little longer. Hope this helps a little bit :-)
Hi Casey's Mom - My son left on 4/20 (his 21st bday) from San Diego, CA, call came 1:00 am PST.  No box, no address, no PIR date yet.  We are anxious to know the PIR date to mark our calendars.  Hang in there!
My husband left from Massachusetts on April 19th also. He said to expect a package in 2 weeks & a phone call in 3 weeks. I hope they are all doing well in their first week of training!
I hope they are all doing good also.  He left for Navy this week & his brother graduates Air Force Basic next week.  I have found that as I come up with ?'s..it is alot easier for me to write em down since when I hear his voice it seems as though I forget everything I wanted to ask.
