Julie, try not to feel too bad about not hearing from him yet. My son managed to send his dad a letter but not me and I'm the one that sent self-addressed stamped envelopes (dad and I live in different states). I just sent him a questionaire so that MAYBE he would fill it out quick and send it. I also know that my son doesn't like to tell me things cuz it makes me worry about him. He is trying to protect my feelings :) FYI...yes, the letter to dad talked about the trouble he was having, so I can understand why he might not want to tell me.Maybe yours feels the same way or thinks that you might be working when he calls and you won't be able to answer it. Could be lots of things. Don't let it get you down!!
Just remember that they are all veeerrry busy all the time. There is always something that is never quite good enough and has to be practiced or studied :( They just go day by day, trying to get through it.
Hi Laurel, I received an early morning wake up call from my son this morning. I was in tears I was so happy. He needed additional information for his security clearance and was able to call. We we were able to talk for a while. He sounds good, but did tell me he was pretty sick and almost passed out during PT. He's on med's and said he feels much better. He also said things are getting easier, it could be that he is adjusting to the routine. He doesn't get much sleep and all the guys watch out for each other, which is comforting. I didn't know our division was down to 55. I'm so glad our guys are still there. I'll definitely go to the facebook discussion and post there too.
Thanks and take care!
Hi to all you proud mamas/gf/etc.. I'm new to this! How do I go about getting on the Facebook discussion page? I do have Facebook, but I'm pretty much a "dummy".
I have had one phone call (thank you lord) and one letter so far. He said it is very tough, but he is hanging in there. He said the food was surprising good, but 3 heavy meals a day...which he isn't use to.
I love having this support and information. Where are people staying. We have out airline revs, but haven't booked a hotel yet.
