Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Young Wives ?

 

Hey all Navy Girlfriends fiance's and wives =D

 

So lately in my SR's letters he's been bringing up marriage a lot. I dont if its because he just misses me so much or if he really has getting married to me on his mind. Im not really sure how to feel about it because to be honest i would love to marry him, right now i feel as though he is the love of my life, BUT i am a freshman in college and only 18. So what i was wondering was if any of you who have been through the same thing or can give me a little advice on this topic that would be great, cause at this point im a little confused. Also i was wondering do a lot of  girls get married at a young age because of the Navy circunstances?

I may be totally wrong so don't quote me on this, ha but I'm pretty sure I've heard Nuke school is 6 years, yes years. Check the groups for Nuke's you can get alot more specific information there.

Nuke school is a year and a half, then they are on active duty for 4 and a half years (that is the minimum) so it all ads up to 6 years.

My SR is a Nuke as well.... where is he going to A School?

My sailor is an ET in nuke school...MM's go slightly shorter as their A school is only 3months instead of 6 like the EM's and ET's but then power school and prototype are 6months each for everyone...I think that is right. That is why we are waiting until after he is done nuke school before we consider marriage. I have been telling my friends i am "unoffically engaged" because we know we want to get married it is just a matter of when and when the timing is right.

What would make nuke school 6 years is if they got into the stay 21 program. They complete A and B school, then the Navy puts them thru College (getting their bachelors in 3yrs) then reenlist, and go to C school. This also makes them an officer. My BrotherNlaw is Nuke and hopes to be accepted to this program. He is 23 (so a little old to be accepted) but he made a perfect score on his ASVAB so it gives him leverage!

I'm 26. My sailor and I married when I was 25. Then he joined the Navy.

I got married young, I was 21. My friends thought that I was crazy!  We got married because we knew we wanted to be with each other forever! It's been ruff and I have had to do a lot of things on my own. It's been a great experience for me. When he was gone to boot camp, A school, and C- school, and part of this deployment I graduated from college with a nursing degree and moved us to Virginia.  If he was her I would of never been able to balance out college, studying and working 2 jobs, plus adding time in to spend with him.  The military deff challenges your relationship, feelings, and how well you guys can work through problems.  If you aren't ready to get married then don't even if their is a slight doubt. Take it from me, my husband and I have been married for almost 2 years now and we have never even lived with each other before so when he gets back from deployment this is going to be a HUGE TRANSITION for us. BUt if you love your man and want to be with him forever, and want to support MILITARY LIFE then yes. Of course being them is not easier either, but we take it harder and deal with the shit at home. Be prepared especially for deployment, because it gets lonely, you get sad, and depressed, so just know what you are going into.  BUT even though it seems bad I wouldn't change it for the whole, even though he missed the most important days of my life, i still wouldn't change it! He's my Sailor and I love it, support him, and I am very proud of him! Hope that helps!! :-)

He miss all the holidays! Our first anniversary, my graduation from nursing school, and the birth of our second niece..its sucked..

it does help -- SO yesterday when i got my lettersmy SR finally came and said " on a serious note, how so you feel about marriage!?" and then he said he wanted my full detailed opinion. i finally wrote my letter to him explaining how i felt. I felt pretty confident in what i was saying. Thank you guys for all your great advice

Oh the letters..I miss that..I have everyone he wrote me.  Now I just save emails from his deployment!

how often do you get to hear from your husband while he is deployed ?? thats something else i wanted to bring up ?
