Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Sailor in Mass Communications A-School, Fort Meade

My son Ben is studying mass communications for his a-school at Fort Meade. He's been there since September 7th , but just began classes Monday, September 20th. He will be there until the end of March 2011.  He really likes being in the Navy. He said he is glad that he didn't go to college right out of high school.  He really likes the discipline that he has learned in the Navy. To me that's good, because when he was home & in high school he really needed to learn the discipline & it wasn't from his Father & I. He just wouldn't listen at all. Apparently, the Navy is better at it than we are. He now has phased up to be able to use his cell phone. Luckily, it has internet connection on it, so I've been able to chat with him on Facebook. He has a girlfriend, Lauren, who he has dated for 13 months now. She's having a hard time with him being in the Navy because she's still a senior in high school. She did get to go see him graduate on 9/2/10 at the Great Lakes. If anyone else has a sailor in this field I would greatly appreciate communicating with them.

My son also is in Fort Meade since the 7th of September - Time is winding down now and will soon be getting orders to go to their next destination.  We have visited since he has been there.  They seem to be enjoying the classes and learning quite a bit. would love also to communicate - I haven't been on for a while and just saw the post.  How is your son doing now?

Ben is doing good. He will graduate from A-school in May. He just put in the places he would like the Navy to consider sending him after graduation. He chose San Diego, Japan, & USS Abraham Lincoln. He chose Japan, because he knows they won't be sending any new military over there. The USS Abraham Lincoln just came into dock on the west coast for at least a year. So, he'll probably be on the west coast unless the Navy chooses not to send to any of those places at all. We haven't seen him since December, but my brother lives in Annapolis(30 minutes away). His Uncle is a Commander in the Navy. We talk to him often and skype with him also.Can't wait to see him next month!

Hi, my boyfriend just graduated from A-school with Ben he was actually his roommate for the last few months that he was there. Glad to hear Liston is still doing good. The graduation ceremonies are really nice, enjoy them!
