Hi everyone..Just checking in. I haven't rec'd any letters or calls from my boys lately. I think with the oldest's injury, no news is good news!! I've searched medical discharge on this site and it did not make me feel better. I read that they medically discharge for minor things such as sleep walking!!! I'm hoping that the chiropractor helped him out and he's back on track!! I'm so happy to hear some of you have rec'd letters and calls but I have to admit when I heard that the division had a few bad mouths, my first thought was...I hope it's not my son!!! LOL I watched a few videos on YouTube of PIR ceremonies and I started to cry...can't wait to go! I spent a good part of yesterday checking out airline tickets and hotels. I'm coming from CA. I know the form letter recommended to purchase refundable air tickets but they are double the price of the bargains. It will cost our family of three $2700.00 Ouch!, so we might risk it and go with the cheaper non-refundable. Has any one found any good deals on hotels??? I'll keep everyone posted if I run across any. Take care and enjoy your calls and letters!!!
Hi Brettany..I'm north of you in the central valley. I'm out in the country between the bay area and Fresno in a small town called Dos Palos. I'm anxious to hear from you later about the good deal you got! The cheapest flight I found was from San Jose to Ohare Southwest direct flight for $408. roundtrip. So that would be $1200 for us three just for the flight. That is the price of a non-refundable ticket to get refundable it looks like they're double. I'm nervous about getting non refundable with having two boys in and one already hurt. I just wish we had more communication with them so I could get a feel if they will graduate together? Thanks for the heads up about the phone calls and thank goodness for cordless phones! I'll look forward to hearing from you later.
Try Orbitz! They are who I usually go through. I was planning on getting the car and flight together and then the room separately. They have insurance you can get on your tickets and stuff so that if you have to you can change or cancel your flights without paying an arm and a leg for it. There are a few hotels around the base that give special discounts for those attending PIR. I am going to be checking into that before I book. A good site for extra discounts is http://www.military.com/discounts/deal-details/378836
Have you gotten a call yet? I'm still waiting.
I got a letter today and my husband was talking about your boys. Well sort of haha! He said, "Oh I heard you are friends with the ******** brothers mom!" I thought that was pretty cool! He said they were all doing well. They had to get some EXTRA IT this past week because people were having trouble marching properly. He didn't have to though because he was SIQ from having 6 teeth pulled.
Where are you planning on staying for graduation? Are either of your boys Grad n Go? Mine has to be at the airport at 2 am on Saturday morning, but at least we will have Friday after PIR together. I will be leaving on Sunday though. He will be home that Wednesday to pick me up with all of our stuff to move to SC! I cannot wait!!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Hang in there! We are almost done!!!! =)

Hi Proud Parents !! Just wanted to share that I received my 2nd letter from my daughter today! She seems to be doing well although she failed the PFA and plans on passing it no matter what. She also said she has not gotten any mail which has upset me because I just mailed a 6th letter today, I`m hoping that she has gotten them after she wrote her letter it was written on easter. I don`t know how long it takes for mail to get there or what the process is for the recruits to get the mail.
Still wishing for the phone call... Any other Mom hear from their recruits lately is this group?
