I did get a letter, I just went to the box to early...I talked to his GF today and she said her letter said he had not gotten a letter from me in a few days..I did skip some days but he should have gotten some sence he wrote that letter to her. She told me that he has told him that she is going to stay here and not go to graduation because she wants Me and Hubby to have the time alone with him. She said she has the rest of her life with him and we don't. The thought that was VERY sweet of her. I will be awsome to have this one last weekend with him as our "Son" in the comming mths he will become her husband. He will still be our son of course but it will not be the same..... I told him in his letter to let me know who his best buds are because maybe we could hang out with his family. (if they are there for the weekend too) I found out that Brandon will have the weekend and monday too because he is staying in GL for the first two weeks of his Aschool. I called public affairs and they confermed that is true. So now I have to change dates AGAIN......
that is what they say....will not be a big wedding. Her parent don't want her to marry him....They said they will not have anything to do with them or any children they may have in the future??? It makes me sick to think someone would say something like that. IDK I guess if they say that thinking that would make her not marry him.... I know they love eachother.
Congrats, sounds like you will have a great dtr in law!!
My son mentioned that he is a grad & go,  but might leave Friday or Saturday.  He's not sure.  You mentioned you called public affairs.  Do you have a phone number or any information on how I can reach PA so I can get more information on when my son will be shipped out? The family was hoping to have more time with him.

Well I got three letters in the mail yesterday and a short phone call as well! He called me once and I missed it so he called his mom and talked to her for about 20 minutes then called me again and I heard it that time and was able to answer. We only got to talk for a little less than 10 minutes but it was GREAT to hear from him since he had to stand watch last Wednesday when everyone else got to make calls. He sounded a bit down, and he is sick with a sinus infection and is on limited duty for a few days. Hopefully the antibiotics they are giving him kick in soon and he is a-okay again! Its so hard when you know they are having a hard time but there is nothing you can do about. I feel helpless and I worry all the time. I believe in him though. I know he will be fine!

Oh and he said that they are down to 75 recruits...not 55. Just so you all know!

Boy we are really upbeat!! Looking back on some our first posts we defintely have come a long way.  I thank whoever started N4M.  It has certainly been a learning experience for me.  We will all be pros by the end of BC. Thanks ladies for all your help!!

Hi all, Well we have reserved at the Ramada for our 5-26 PIR,coming home on Monday, bought our round trip Amtrack tickets, but does anyone know the best way to get to Waukegan from Union Station? Is there a shuttle bus or train that goes to Waukegan? If there is both, which is the better way to go? We will rent a car once we're there, but hoping to avoid driving through Chicago. We live north of Detroit where public transportation is almost nonexistent. We are staying for 5 nights and will all have luggage. Help!!!  LOL
Hi Mary.  I meant to send a message with my friend request.  I got a letter from my son today and he tells me your sons and he are good buds!  Yay.  If you can respond to my friend request, we can share notes and names.  I am so looking forward to sharing what I've heard, which by the way other 11/180 members, is all good.  It sounds like they are really starting to enjoy themselves and the RDCs!  Here's hoping it's all downhill.  Mary, take the train to Waukegan right from Union Station.  It will be easy but you may want to rent your car in a northern suburb like Evanston.
Hi Laurel, I'm glad that our boys are friends in BC. Did  your son have any funny stories? Can't wait to talk to you  ; ) Thanks for the info. I hope that other train is close to where the Amtrack is since we will have to pull our luggage around  :/
My SR also mentioned your sons Mary! They must be pretty popular haha : )
That's nice to hear : ) They can be pretty funny sometimes. We miss them so much.  We were so happy and surprised to get phone calls this morning. We were at P's GF's volleyball tournament when he called. I yelled for GF and held up the phone, and we all went running out of the building. As  we were talking to him, M. called but I couldn't get to his call quick enough before he hung up. Luckily he called back 5 minutes later. It was so great to get to talk to the both of them. They sounded very upbeat and said their division was doing well. It sounds to me that they are a very tight knit group that work well together. In reference to fireteam wife, I really haven't been getting letter's either. GF's have, but I know their time is very limited, and I'm sure that when they crawl into their rack's that sometime's they are ready to just pass out!  I know that they love us, and vice verse, so I'm not complaining really, but I wish we could hear from them more often. P. assured me that a letter is on it's way  : ) Lucky for us, we are close to the GF's. and going through the boys at BC has bonded us even closer together. So glad that our guys are more than halfway there! 26 more days until we see them. Yah!
