While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

when can we move to Groton?
My husband just graduated boot camp last Friday and is in Connecticut for schooling. I'm wondering if I can find out any information about when our son and myself get to move. We live in Dallas and I still have to get our 30 day notice to our apartment complex since we're moving. I'd like to get things worked out for military to move us etc..but we haven't heard anything for sure. We've been told for military to move us we have to have every in original box...that isn't possible at this point. So my husband said we'd get the money from them so we'd move ourselves...He's not sure now if he even will have a break to do so...Any suggestions or ideas?? So many questions. I'm very new to the Military please help.

He needs to do it all, there is really nothing you can do to get the ball rolling, he needs to go to the housing office on base, give everyones info set up the move and its all on him. Let the Navy move you because the distance you are moving its not even worth it to be honest. Yes you can make money off the move but it will not be worth the hassel and lately the office that distributes the checks, has been very slow but your husband needs to find out everything..As far as things needing original boxes, whoever told you that, is dead wrong..The packers come, pack everything. I know that for a fact. But you need to tell your husband if he is already there, to go to the housing office on base...No one will get any info other than him at this point so he has to set it up..

I do know he has to have his orders for A School that are accompanied before the Navy will pay for you to move up there with him.

Ok this is a very big head ache and most likely you will have to move by yourself and cost and than fight to get your money back from the Navy! I moved here from MO in April and found an Apt. and told him I'm coming! He got to move in with me after a short time and we are still fighting to get the money back to this day! If he is through BEST and can live off base than I would see if he just wants you to move out here!? We live in the Shore Landing Apt. and it is close to the Beach and I would love for you to come move here and have some Navy wife friends! I have an almost 3 year old and 4 year old little girl if you have kids! There is also a park near by too! Feel free to email me if you have anymore questions or if you want to move here and know more! Oh, and you can tell them I sent you too!
