Hey there :) I'm very, very new at this & I'm a little lost as far as the rules go for Graduation. My husband informed me that he is in the Grad N Go Division, has anyone had experience with this? I'm not sure how much time he WILL have, if he gets off-base liberties, and I've also heard that there is a PDA Rule at Graduation where I can't hug, kiss, or hold my husbands hand.  Just looking for someone who may of had experience with this & knows how it goes. Thank you!

What job is your husband joing to go to school for?  If his school is in GL, than after PIR he will have a little time with you, than go back to his barracks get his gear and go across the street and check in, check in can take up to 5 hours.  After he checkes in he will be given liberty every day, but be required to be back on base by a certain time.  BUT...he will have to walk back to his barracks on the base, so make sure he is there early.  IF his school is out of state, than there is a chance he will leave early on Sat morning.

It is correct there is no PDA while in uniform (and they are required to be in uniform).  After PIR, you can give them a hug and kiss...no 20 min smooch though.  Also you can't hold hands, kiss, or hug while out in town.  He will know how you are to be escorted while out in town, it is where he puts his arm out for you to hold.

Thank you so much! That helped clear some things up :) From what I was told, there was no touching period, so it's nice to know he can at least escort me. lol. He is going to A-School down in Pensacola, FL.

When did your husband leave for bootcamp?  Mine left yesterday, and is also going to Pensacola for A school.  I did not know anything about the PDA?!?  Which will be ok for me, but do you think that will apply to guys hugging their kids??  I don't know if my 5 year old daughter will understand or be able to control herself! :)

That thought crossed my mind too, about kids. I'm sure they would make exceptions for children, afterall it's the first time they see thier dad or mom in 8 weeks. I don't think your daughter hugging your husband would be a problem :) & my husband left for boot March 29.

No one is going to stop a child from huging their daddy, and dang if they do please smack them for me. (I didn't say that out loud did I )

(a little side note, don't tell, My hubby kisses me when I am in unifrom and he drops me off at work.)

I agree!  My husband will be all about following the rules, but there's nothing that will come between him and his little girls!

Ladies, Don't get too excited. Your husbands will know how to conduct themselves with you and your children. Just follow suit and everything will fall into shape. You all will get your hugs and kisses. My son gave me a big hug and a very proper kiss on the cheek which surprised me since he hasn't given me a kiss on the cheek in years. He gave me his arm to walk me across the street and opened the doors for both myself and his sister. He even held my daughters purse as she went in to try on a shirt. He is a totally different man. You might enjoy the new mannered husbands you are getting. My son is at Pensacola awaiting for his A school to begin. Perhaps your some of your husbands will be in his classes when you get there.
Thank you so much.  You're right, sometimes I forget that my husband is not going to be nearly as clueless as I am :)  After 7 years of marriage I don't think I can remember the last time my door was held open for me, now you've got my hopes up! :)
Does anyone happen to know anything about IT A-School in Pensacola? My husband graduates boot camp May 26th & is going down the next morning at 2 am. He wants me to fly down to Pensacola the same day, something about how he will be able to hang out for the rest of the weekend down there, but I can't find any information about the school & where I should go to stay. I don't even know for sure if we will be able to see each other. Very confused.. any info will be appreciated!

thank you so much!

My son is at Pensacola right now. There are 2 Hotels on one of the bases so it depends on which of the bases he is going to be on. He will not be able to leave base. I do not know if he realizes this. It is pretty much back to square one. Eventually, he will earn a chance to have whole weekends off for liberty and that means leaving Friday and coming back at a certain time on Sunday. This is real liberty. He will be able to travel about 250 miles away from base. You might want to inform him of this.
thank you for the reply :) I'll let him know, I seem know to more than he does right now about A-school and his liberties lol
