I will look up the words tonight when i get home!

I agree about the HS graduation..it means alot to him as this is his chance to say good bye to all of his friends, but for me graduation is the necessary step to get him successfully to BC.

He is going sub so he will school in Groton

What are you putting on the DVD?

My son is going to Pensacola, AME and air crew.

The DVD is a chronological account of his life. I tried so hard to include a picture of him with every member of our immediate family...people enjoy seeing themselves understandably as well as his friends and important events. I'm still adding pictures, graduation, prom, etc. Then I'm fading into his swearing-in and Navy stuff with Anchors Aweigh playing.

I'm unemployed right now so time is on my side, I'm not an overachiever, I swear. Just trying to keep my brain functioning.

Best of luck to your son and all of the wonderful things ahead of him in the next few weeks.

Just wanted to add my son is also is going to recruiter on the 6th and then we will see him leave on the 7th at the game. Is anyone going? What should we expect there? Are we able to see him before he gets on the bus one last time?

My son is flying out on the 7th and I am not sure if I could even go if I wanted to. He says let it be just drop him off on the 6th but I don't know. I would like to be there if I could and I know his fiance would like to too.

That's good to know. I'm not sure where he is going to have to go. He had to go to Knoxville when he got sworn in I guess I will have to bypass him and ask his recruiter. :.) Is that where your husband will go?  It is all so new. Lot to learn and take in for sure.

I mentioned that to my son and he is not convinced that there will be other family there. I told him to ask his recruiter. I don't mind driving up to Knoxville to see him one last time. He is afraid that he might be the only one with family there.

Oh that is very sweet!  Hopefully he will come around. I thought about just calling his recruiter myself but I don't want to be the nosy mom. :.). I'll keep you posted.

no I wouldn't really call him although I threaten!  Maybe I will find out something in time. I have planned to be off work anyway so I can go. Hopefully his fiance will be able to go too.
Got you added to the calendar Twinspin.  We are planning on driving to see our son swear in.  I believe we may be able to go out for supper with him the night before he ships out and then watch him swear in the next day.  I know some parents also will go to the airport and spend a bit more time with them before they fly out, but I don't think we'll do that.  I need to make a break (and TRY not to cry the entire time) and he can use that time to make some new friends.  He's the only one in his DEP program that is leaving that week.  Everyone is a little different in how and when they say good-bye.
Alwaysamom - We have added you to the calendar.  Welcome!
Welcome Alwaysamom and Twinspin to our group!  The count down is on....
I have been here since the beginning but haven't been on here in a while.  I see there are many more leaving in June now. The closer it gets the worse my son seems to get.  I got so angry at him this last week that I said "fine, you're on your own, you know everything and don't need my help" then went on N4M and deleted every comment made to me and by me. I came to my senses just before deleting my entire profile, LOL.  They certainly know how to push our buttons when they want to. Anyway, Good luck to you all as it gets closer.
