Won't that be great for them?! I am going to be praying that they ALL pass and get to go to "Ricky Heaven" (from the Acronyms link!).

Plus, my SR still needs to pass his PFA. Will keep that one in prayer. He sounded confident now that he is over the pneumonia.

Thanks for the info laurelbc!

Thanks Laurel. Mine did say something in his letter about next week being their last holiday routine so he will be able to write alot more. I wasn't quite sure what he meant.

That's really early for battlestations, but GOOD! It's fantastic that they are ahead :)

They would Julie but I read 97% pass the first time.  Our guys seem to be pretty well bonded as a team and my reading indicates working as a team is the goal.  Someone, somewhere said you have to not listen to NOT pass.  I have blind confidence in the 180.  Such a partisan.

I FINALLY GOT A LETTER!

The first thing he says is that he now has "plenty of great news for me."

"Everything is going great at Boot Camp, you know, as far as Boot Camp goes."

This is the first time he has said that he will leave on Friday-just like everyone elses info on here.

Says he should get plenty of liberty on the day of PIR. I have to check that one out. Thought I read that they have to go back and pack but I might have that mixed up. Maybe it was Grad-n-Go's not Sat (Fri) Departures.

Says, "...going to write again, but man, I hate writing in pen." It has four blackouts on it!

"SR..." with "(still)" underneath it and an arrow pointing up to it.

Hi all. I saw that there were like 10 posts or more today and I'm thinking....what's up. Sounds like everyone is doing well. We are definitely on the upside of bootcamp now (well, if you can call puking in the gas chamber an upside), but you know what I mean. I read now some of the comments from moms, etc. that are just starting this process and my heart goes out to them. I don't know how I would have coped without all of you.

I'm interested in knowing where all of your young men will be going and what they will be doing after bootcamp. Also if they will be flying out on Friday.

For us, our son will be (unless orders change-you just never know) flying out to Groton, CT on Friday. We plan to go to the airport and see him off even if it is the middle of the night. Once he gets to Groton, he will have 8 weeks training in BESS (Basic Enlisted Submarine School), then 2 more technical schools which is 8 more weeks, then he will start A school which will last about a year. He will be in a dorm like setting with 2 roommates. When they arrive, they are given a white liberty card (leave base in uniform for the day). After a few weeks they get their yellow liberty card (leave base in civies and back by midnight), then a few weeks later its a blue liberty card (leave base in civies and back by next day). Since he will be in CT and we are in California, I don't think we will see him for a while after PIR...maybe after BESS...we'll see.

I would love to hear what is ahead for you. BTW, it is so nice to be looking ahead. The end of BC is drawing near.

Again, thanks so much for being here.

Mine will be in A school at GL for a few months :)

My feelings exactly! lol

Mine is staying at GL.
Gosh Jan you son has alot of school ahead of him! Mine is a CS he will stay in GL for two weeks then go to Fort Lee VA for Culinary school for 5 weeks. Then he will be off and running...well cooking! LOL Its kinda funny he said he did GREAT shooting the guns (whatever they are LOL IDK) and he is going to be Culinary...ya don't get to do much shootin in the Galley! LOL
Lots of school. He will be working on the sub computer systems, but they have to know every square inch of the sub. That was funny...shootin in the galley...shooting gallery..ha ha. I don't think there is a lot of shooting going on in a sub either! I hear they have really good food on a sub...to keep moral up.
ya brandon had no intrest in going on a sub!! He needs to be able to get out and see the sky!
Hi all, Both of my guys will be staying at GL's, studying for HT and EM. They are kind of dreading the gas chamber next week, but after that, should all be downhill.
