Yes my son is in the same ship and division

Got a letter today.

My SR is starting to get home sick, but he's doing well

This week our DIV had 3-4 inspections, their second academic test, and their second PFA.

I'm praying they're all doing well. Hopefully you all got letters this week too.

21 days!

Got a letter from my SR today :)

On May 10th they had Marlinespike and he really enjoyed it.

Next week is Hell Week for our boys. They have 3 inspections in 2 days; 2 weapons trainers; and PFA...all starting at 0445. My SR is the yeoman for div 192 and says it keeps him busy 24/7. He said he usually gets about 5 hours of sleep a day, but he's used to it now. So proud of all of their hard work!

I pray they really pull together and finish strong.

Can't wait for PIR!
Did anyone get a phone call this weekend??  I thought they were going to get to call.

Docsmom I didn't get a call.. just hoping I would.. The only phone call was 5/3 ..which I missed :o( ... Was hoping that they would get to call again today 5/17.. but nothing.. littlemiss seems to have more information.. I didn't get a letter either from Sunday.. And of course continually wondering how he's doing and what.. but I know Nat'l Security and all and a secure base.. They won't tell some things..

How about you.. did you get a letter

got a letter from my SR today :)

Our boys had a PFA and a personnel inspection on Wednesday (5/11). On Thursday they had another inspection and SAMT. As long as they passed weapons training, they got to use live fire on Friday (5/13). Tomorrow (5/17) they have another academic test. Busy busy busy!

They all have 25 minutes to write on Tuesdays and Thursdays now so we should be getting more than one letter a week.

Only 17 days! :)

littlemiss  I tried to find out what SAMT is.. didn't get a definition.. could you clear this up for me please.. Also i believe our SR's are in the same division 192.. How do you find all this stuff out.. Have you received another phone call?  Or just from letters.. My son has told me some like Marlinspike etc.. but you get way more info.. :o)

Small Arms Marksmanship Training- basically a stimulated weapons training to prepare them for using live fire. As long as they proved themselves in this activity, they were allowed to move forward and use live ammo on last Friday.

I missed the first phone call and haven't gotten anything else but letters. My SR called today for security questions, but I wasn't even able to ask how he's doing. He got answers from me and got off the phone. It was less than 2 minutes. All of the info I have comes from my letters. I hope that posting what he tells me helps more of us know what our boys are doing :)

Let me know if I can be any more help. We should get more letters on Thursday that they wrote on holiday. Only 2 weeks left!  I'm thinking we should have a phone call next week to tell us when they'll be having battlestations and when to expect the Sailor call...hopefully at least!

Thank you for the info you do get.. It does help.. Hopefully we will get a phone call next week.. My SR was kicking himself because he left my cell phone # in his rack when it was time to call 5/3.. Started a new job 2 weeks before he entered BC and got a cell phone then because of the long drive.. so he hadn't memorized the #.. I can receive the call at work also and have sent him that #.. Bet he won't forget to put the #'s with the phone card again and grab all.. Waiting anxiously for the Sailor call.. My older son is flying up from FL on 6/1 and we will be driving over on 6/2.. Most of them should do pretty good with the simulation with all the video games played.. eye to hand coordination and all  :o)

haha definatly! all of those hours playing halo and modern warfare will not go to waste :)
Still no letter from my son (SR).. hopefully will get one tomorrow from holiday (Sunday).. and if they can write Tues & Thurs should be getting more info.. How about you littlemiss or anyone else.. any resent letters.. phone calls etc
I count 11 letters total. Been lucky enough to get one every MWF for past 3 weeks then 1 per week the previous 2 weeks. Says they have 8 am till 1 pm on Sun but only 30 min to write on T-Th and some are too tired or on watch. His watch has been on other days so far. Just lucky. Also he is single and did not have steady GF when left and I think only writes to us. (parents) He was worried about leaving (our only child together) because I had heart attack last Oct and his dad had heart attack with open heart surgery this past January. So he keeps checking with us about health etc and his dog of course! Hope everyone gets letters next day or two. We live in KC and when he writes on Sun we get on Wed. Tues letter on Fri and Th lettter on following Mon. Will keep in touch with any news though and you ladies do same. We are almost there. yea!!!!
