My son, an MM, is actually starting class today, 5/16.  I don't know if ETs and MMs differ when theirs start.

Maddie, is that A-school or which one is he starting today?

YESSSSS!!!   get those boys back to school!   I think maybe the ETs/EMs start next Monday?  Must be waiting for some more guys to finish indoctrination or something.  That's just a guess!!

Let us know when u hear from him, okay maddie?  My son is not a great communicator, even  WITH his

laptop and cellphone back!

will do, swim!  altho' my son's the same with the communication thing.  That's why I'm glad I have you guys to hang out with!  :)
That's why I have to hang out with all of you as well.  Outside of school, my son pretty much has eyes only for his girlfriend (AKA investment for the future).  Heck, he doesn't even let me Skype with him!!  lol
Hey, Penny!  Yup, it's A school.  So, it all starts...
I talked to D on the phone last night for a long time.  He clarified that EM's will not start class until the day after Memorial Day.  The confusion with his Dad was that they do have "briefings" now, which he was calling class...I guess these are different classes about all sorts of things.  They are supposed to have the "wildlife safety" class and he said they had a class scheduled for "driving safety"-video only-  He said some were going to a big Veterans event at the Yorktown nearby, but he was not on the list to go...sounded very interesting though. Actual A school for him, however, will be after Memorial Day.  Funny, he is all of a sudden interested in the old stories and military service of family members that he seemed to care less about (or I should say could not really relate to) before this experience:)  It's neat that he is so interested now and I am going to gather some info to send to him about his grandfather and great grandfather's.  My Dad has lived at the Southern Ohio Veterans Nursing Home since  late January and I have met some really interesting people there.  D is excited to visit there when he gets to come home on leave.  I think it will mean a lot to him to go there.

goliathmmacdog, isn't it great to see these changes in our sons/dtrs?  I'm glad he is taking an

interest in the "older" members of the family.  If D goes for a visit when he's home, it will be

a WIN-WIN for him and the people at the home!  :)

Got my first report from my MM.  He says that everything is easy.  Of course, that was based  first two days in class so it doesn't really mean much in big scheme of things :)

Just heard from RD...he says they start next Monday, 5/23/11 and are class 1133...

Said he knew that one of them (EM) didn't start until the following week after that.  I'm going to have to learn some

Jedi mind tricks to keep him on the phone longer.  He always sounds as though he is in a hurry to get somewhere when I

speak to him!  I think we'll drive his car and his clothes out there for 4th of July weekend.  He should be in week 4 of training by then....

Funny, even when my son calls me he sounds like he's in a hurry to get off.

Where'd you hear this about the prototype facilities?
I'm just curious as to that's where Aaron is and I haven't heard a word about this. I heard they were actually going to be moving a boat from NY to SC so there would be more capacity in SC.

And please don't come back at me with an attack of a response- I'm simply wondering.
