Hello, MNSunshine!  Happy to see someone else from the same Ship/Div as my son.  I sure am learning a lot as I navigate N4Ms and really appreciate how great everyone is about sharing the information they have and making it easier for us who are new to this.  It's been quite a ride so far!

Ronnie --

Welcome!!!  I'm so glad to have found someone on the same ship in the same division.

My son's a nuke, how about yours?

I'm a newbee too!

Mine's a nuke also.  Headed to Goose Creek after BC.

Anyone else have a loved one in this ship/division?

Hello Ronnie!

It looks like we're still the only ones ... maybe more will join us soon.

Are you making plans for PIR yet?  Do you know who's going and where you'll be staying?

I'm just starting to think about it.

I saw another Ship 12, but it was Div 212.  I haven't even seen others in the Div.  I don't get how this is organized yet.

Keep in touch.  Have a great week.

I consider myself very lucky that I live within an hours drive from GL, so I don't have to travel or stay at a hotel.  So my planning involves what time we will get up that morning and leave the house.  What about you?

I haven't seen others from the same Ship and Division either.  I think lots of people are still trying to figure it all out.

Take care and keep thinking happy thoughts!  Today is one day closer to PIR!

Ronnie --

We live in Minnesota.  I'm guessing it's about a 7 hour drive.  I'm planning to come sometime on Thursday.  I'll be travelling with my ex and possibly my son's fiance.  We're not sure where we want to stay yet.  Do you have recommendations?

Unfortunately I live nowhere near GL and am unfamiliar with that area, so I don't have any recommendations.  Sounds like a lot of people have gotten some great deals though.  Hopefully they will turn out good.
I really need to work on this.  Guess I'm avoiding it a bit.  I'm in an awkward position.  Travelling with ex (not sure how hubby feels/will feel, but makes sense) also dealing with a fiance I barely know and from what I hear, she plans to travel with her mom.  Wish it could be different.  The important thing is that I navigate all this so it is a GREAT day for my SR.

Sounds a little awkward, to say the least.  But I'm sure you all have your son's best interests at heart and will do whatever it takes to make sure it is a great day for him.  All of the love I see in the messages that are being posted makes me realize these young men have such great support from those that care about them.  Everyone is hoping and praying for them to be successful at what they have chosen to do.

Hopefully your arrangements will work out well.

I'm trusting it will all work out.  It will!

Hello MNSunshine. Thank you for starting this discussion group. I don't feel like I am alone with this process. It's nice to be able to share with other parents.
